Freeman claims her religious beliefs require her to keep her head and face covered out of modesty and that her faith prohibits her face from being photographed.I wonder what her "religious beliefs" say about women driving cars.

Finally a Judge with some common sense. Who was the Judge and what is his political persuasion?

re:Freeman, a convert to Islam previously known as Sandra Kellar
Ya know, when this story got legs, I suspected this woman would turn out to be some sheissekopf white liberal.
I got a little patience for someone from a cultural that grew up with this pagan, absurd excuse for a religion (Islam's nothing more, really than an efficient method for controlling slaves), but for some reason seeing someone who should *know better* get into this crap... well. it just bites.
and is entirely predictable.

You do not have a "right" to a driver's license. To obtain one, you must meet certain requirements etc.
If her religion prevents her from showing her face, one would think she had sufficient conviction in her beliefs to obtain alternate transportation.
Let me be the first to suggest a camel.

"But a state attorney countered that Islamic law has exceptions that allow women to lift their veil and expose their face if the action serves a public good. Assistant Attorney General Jason Vail said arrangements can be made to have Freeman photographed only with women present to allay her concerns about modesty."
So what the hell is this? Islamic law, whatever that is, doesn't trump US law. This should have no bearing on the case whatsoever. Sheesh!

Freeman and her husband had used their concerns about religious modesty to hinder them from looking for bruises on the girlsTrash like this even make Islam look bad!

Thank Goodness. There would have been a riot if that Judge had ruled any other way.

During the hearing, Freeman conceded that she has had her face photographed without a veil since she started wearing one in 1997. She had a mug shot taken after her arrest in 1998 on a domestic battery charge involving one of twin 3-year-old sisters who were in her foster care. The children were removed from her home, according to records from the Decatur (Ill.) Police Services.
This woman and her husband are child-beaters. No wonder she wants to hide her face...TO HIDE HER SHAME!!!!

For all we know, plenty of pimps and tricks have already seen that face behind the veil.

So--"Cousin It"--don't drive. A good Muslim bride wouldn't drive, anyway...

I haven't heard any comments about a cops right to see her face if she is in a routine road stop or is questioned for a traffic violation even if her face is on her license.

"...Freeman, a convert to Islam previously known as Sandra KellarWell MS. Keller should be sent to a Muslin heaven like Afghanistan or Iraq where she will find women shedding that "veil" for freedom and liberty. How many have given their lives so this silly convert can stand there and bad mouth her country. How silly these postulates are...does she think being a born again Muslim gives her the right to thumb her nose at the Laws of the Land? Good on that judge!!!!
