Trump's presidential hopes tarnished by African-American comments

His troubles with "the blondes" are well-documented, but now Donald Trump is in hot water with "the blacks" _ the cringe-worthy term he used this week to describe African-Americans, a segment of the population once warm to his potential run for U.S. president.

"I have a great relationship with the blacks," Trump said earlier this week in a radio interview.

He added that the overwhelming African-American support for U.S. President Barack Obama is "frightening." The remarks come on the heels of the mega-mouthed billionaire questioning whether Obama was born on U.S. soil.

Oops.

America's black community, in fact, recently viewed Trump favourably, an NBC poll found.

The survey was conducted, however, before Trump revealed himself to be one of the "birthers," the fringe group of Americans _ many of them Tea Party adherents _ who believe Obama is illegitimately serving as president because he wasn't born in the United States but in Kenya.

Trump, whose high-profile divorces from Ivana Trump and then Marla Maples hogged headlines in the 1990s, says he believes there "is a big possibility" Obama may have violated the Constitution since it prohibits anyone not born in the United States from serving as president.

"I want to see the birth certificate," Trump in an interview last week on NBC's "Today" show.

Officials in Hawaii have certified that Obama was born in that state, and many African-Americans consider suggestions to the contrary to be downright racist....

I must say, if there’s anyone who could get away with “’the’ blacks”, it ought to be “’The’ Donald”.

But I want this Trump-for-President boomlet to hurry up and be over with.

I listen and enjoy Mark Levin but I and many other Conservatives DO NOT take marching orders from Levin or anyone else. Stop with the flaming of Trump it is a lot like all the ‘Birther’ or TEA Party demonizing that the Karl Rove wing is using to marginalize us, so just STOP with this crap!
We know plenty about Trump and we now know plenty about the Republican (Progressive) Party.

When you remember that Most blacks cheered when OJ was found innocent you should realize that they really do not cae about Justice they care about race.

Then they have the temerity to suggest that whites are racist.

Check out the Congressional Black caucus if you want to do a study on racism.

Trump is out for trump. But presidenting will be a step down for him in income, fame, and power. I don’t think he wants the job for himself, really. Not sure he will run.

But mark is focused too much on breaking trump and not nearly enough on breaking the usurper Obama. That’s where mark s focus should be.

“Oops.”

Sorry Lee Ann, Ooop’s fail. Trump is dead on in his characterization of The Blacks voting tendencies.

As a population, blacks have much to save and the work in helping them is quite rewarding. As a voting block, they are a lost cause. No GOP candidate should consider compromising a principle for any reason but especially not to try to attract black voters.

Trump should say “I’ve put more black people to work than obama ever has”.

"All blacks should read the story of Nathan Bedford Forrest if they want to know the true essence of the Democrat. Complete genius in battle. Typical democrat when it came to racial issues."

Forrest was much less of a racist and bigot than Abraham Lincoln. What party was Lincoln?

Maybe it's you who needs to do some reading.

I recommend John A. Wyeth's That Devil Forrest.

What a tool this writer is!

What does he think “those people” call themselves?

BLACK, that’s what. Sometimes stronger words.

Why should any American feel coerced into using Jesse Jackson’s nomenclature?? (which is where A.A. came from)

“African-American” started with J.J., which makes me even less likely to use it.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. The same 3 blacks I mean Afro-Americans who voted Republican in 2008 can probably be counted on again in 2012.

Ask any black who prefers the term “African American” to name 10 African countries or 10 famous Africans in history.

and you're right...blacks view Cain and West...and sad to say...black freepers as Toms to be scorned

Jews here suffer the same indignity at Seder I'm sure

but not in public life

as an “All Wood Southern Christian Boy”...it's easy for me...I was born into what many here aspire to be...politically socially conservative...many here had to change the trend of their culture and do it for themselves..hat tip to ya'll

I was born into it..already molded right..just had to kind of come back around at times

that's why we're here to help ya’ll

Good Old Boys and Girls Ideological Outreach to Yankee Freepers who've had Enough.

just remember:

I-65, 55 and 95 head south

and I-70, 40 20 and 10 head east

Of all the dumb things Trump has said, I am most offended by his attacks on George W. Bush.

Bush was a very good man and a good president ... tho not perfect. Trump does not have the credentials to attack him.

However, I won’t join in the Trump bashing right now because I want him to do ‘his thang,’ and he’s mostly doing it because he’s enough of an ego-maniac to think that he could actually be nominated.

Ya know your right! I have to say that on the day I witnessed a group of people lets say black, brown, white, red whatever! stand in Washington DC and sing that song na na na na hey hey or whatever it is called. I have never in my life witnessed so much disrespect toward anyone as I saw for The President and The VP.
I would personally vote for The Donald just to get to hear him say to the present occupants of these positions...YOUR FIRED!

I was happy when GWB got elected the 2nd time.
But then he was the biggest disappointment for me.

That’s just it. I know a lot of blacks and none says “A-A.”

Maybe it comes down to what the old barber (Cedric the Entertainer) said in “Barbershop”: “Bleep Jesse Jackson.”

Now if we can just convince them to say, “Bleep Obama....”
