Could a Palin presidential bid rewrite the campaign rulebook?
CBS News' Political Hotsheet ^ | August 23, 2011 | Lucy Madison

Posted on 08/23/2011 8:29:29 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Conventional wisdom dictates that Sarah Palin is not running for president: it's too late; the field is too crowded, and many think she is more interested in making money than running for office.

On top of that, the onetime vice presidential candidate has failed to build substantial campaign apparatus in crucial early primary states. She has seemingly declined to aggressively court big-name, big-dollar Republican donors, and she has watched as countless top GOP operatives join her possible competitors' campaigns.

Palin, many believe, has handicapped her own prospects for 2012 and decided to sit it out.

--snip--

"Her campaign, if it is a campaign, just truly baffles me," says Republican strategist Eric Woolson, who managed former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee's Iowa campaign in 2008 and worked on former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty's 2012 bid until his recent withdrawal from the race. "She's not doing interviews; she really doesn't have the infrastructure around her that she would have typically set up by this point of the game... All of us would say, gosh, she should have had that infrastructure in place two years ago."(continued)

Why should she - they are NOT interested in 'We The People". They are terrified of the thought 'We The People' being empowered instead of them, the elitist. They helped get us in this mess. This is grass roots all the way - they way it should be!

She’s taking ‘em ALL to school: media, pundits, ruling class, etc., etc., etc.

[She posts on Facebook that she needs $3 million for a media buy in South Carolina, and she will have $5 million in 24 hours. She tweets that she need 500 people to walk the streets of Manchester, New Hampshire, and she will have 1000 volunteers in hours.

She understands the power of social networking and it will save her tons of money and energy that others will devote to things that are no longer needed. ]

Exactly. A lot of the naysayers here are so 2008.

A month and a half ago I had 10 followers on Twitter. I now have 600, all available for me to tweet to. And I guarantee by spring I will have thousands more, and I’m just one guy. I guaranteen I will be tweeting for Palin.

The Post Office is going bankrupt because mail pieces are down, people throw it in the trash. It’s a whole new ballgame.

It 'should' baffle you, Eric. Considering you've obviously been working off a loser's playbook.

The MSM, very reluctantly, now hedging their bets and grudgingly putting up smoke signals that SP might really be about to jump into the ring.

Poly may soon be on the clock.

As well he should be. I'm all for an open and honest evaluation of a candidate's strengths and weaknesses, but his accusations against Sarah are among the most insidious of all the trolls here. He accuses her of intentionally abusing the trust of millions of good people, without a scintilla of evidence. That is pure, indefensible defamation, character assassination with a blunt instrument, and it is too vile and base to have any legitimate place in this conversation.

BTW, Poly (you "cipher" you), I've seen the kind of "evidence" you rely on in your "noble" effort to "save us" from Palin, for our own good of course. How big-brotherish of you. All I can say is if you truly are a doctor, I sincerely hope you have, for your patients’ sake, a significantly higher evidentiary standard for diagnostic analysis than the chicken doo doo you spread around here. Put another way, if I'm an attorney (and I am), you're the medmal expert witness I really, really want to have ... on the other side. Easy money. Just sayin ...

I have also recently learned she has a photographic memory. That’s an unfair advantage over TOTUS, but oh well.

because she accepts the fact that the media has done an effective job of convincing enough people that she shouldnt be president, and she loves the country enough to put it first instead of her self. I love her and wish she could make it. Just too many people have fallen for the lies about her, or they are women who are jealous of her.

"They" rewrote the book on campaign coverage for Dunham Soetoro:
* No rectal exam
* No problem unsealing an opponent's divorce decree
* A pass on college transcripts
* A pass on executive experience
* A pass on the 1999 Limo Ride
* A pass on Donald Young and the campaign calls
...and the list goes on.

You know, I was thinking. All these *smart* people running off at the mouth about Sarah not having an organization. They know this how, exactly? Are they in her living room? I have seen that she has hired some exceptionally good people and I know that some of the people advising her are exceptional as well.
As for the money...Sarah doesn’t need to BUY us...and she can’t be bought, so why is it so important to THEM that she surround herself with big moneymen like say, perry has? Or like bachmann is trying to? Are they really that stupid?

you have no clue as to how people will react to her. She draws thousands at her events. They jsut had to move her upcoming event to an outdoor venue because of the crowds expected. People will do for Sarah Palin what they need to do because they KNOW that SHE will do what is right for our country which will benefit THEM and their families by putting them back to work, bring back the jobs to THIS country and get manufacturing back in the good ole USA. She won’t be popular that is UNTIL those who love to spew hate realize they are spewing hate from their desks becuase they NOW have a job. Never underestimate the people of this country when their backs are up against the wall or they are pushed into a corner.

You mean other than substantial accomplishments and extensive executive experience?

I don’t raise money for PACs. When she declares, she’ll get $2 million dollars from my efforts. Apples and oranges.
