He has drawn...more than15 million listeners a week

I started listening to Rush in about 1991. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember that he bragged about having a listenership of 22 million a week. That may have been a few years later, when the Republicans were about to take over Congress, and new Clinton scandals were cropping up every week, and the web had not really taken hold yet.

Maybe I'm just projecting. I used to listen to him almost every day. Now, I doubt that I listen more than 10 minutes per month.

I actually played that ad for my 22 year old Ron Paul supporting son the day I heard it. He didn’t find it funny at all. I thought it was hysterical! I actually felt bad afterward about playing it for him because I realized that I was making fun of my son by doing so.

By the way, my son does not smoke dope. These stereotypes about Paul’s supporters are a little annoying. I think Ron Paul draws a diverse group of people to him. Of all the Paul supporters I know, not one of them fits the mold I see described here on FR.

Oh please. God help us when the majority of voters vote for protection of their stash.

Please, do not confuse Ron Paul supporters with facts. The constitution does not say that they have to have facts....

Then might I suggest, Sir, that perhaps you are visiting the wrong site? Because this is a conservative site. And Ron Paul is no conservative.

that’s EXACTLY right. Their one issue is the “Right to Toke”.

Including Heroin. Ron Paul said on one of the Debates that there can be no “outlaw” drugs if you legalize them, even heroin will be legal!!!

First of all, you might want to address me as “ma’am.” And second of all, being conservative does give one the right to mischaracterize or pigeon hole people. I’d like to think that conservatives are all about truth. I know I am. I’ve been here since 1998. I have no intention of “visiting” another site. I consider this my home on the Internet.

I never said that Ron Paul supporters are conservatives. However, I did say that they are not all dope heads. Ron Paul is the last person I’d vote for on this ticket, but that doesn’t mean I won’t defend my kids who like him when they are being called dope heads and neonazis by people on FR.

Because polls are always right when you like what they tell you and worthless when they don’t.

Limbaugh, in a desperate attempt to regain his relevance, is now being forced to use Ron Paul to get attention.

Ron Paul is not the enemy, Rush. Learn that and maybe your audience will return.

If I have a choice between Limbaugh with his present listeners and Limbaugh supporting Ron Paul and his present listeners plus Ron Paul supporters, I'll take the present.

After all I already have looney tunes cartoons and my sister-in-law.

On the first sentence, how insightful of you to be honest. On the last, therein lies your problem. If you don't know what they are saying, how can you disagree with what they are saying? Maybe you have resorted to feel good notions of your own disillusionment that feeds your own insecurities.

Unless you know the battlefield, you have no defense and any mounted on faulty notions only make you appear to be a bigger strategic fool than even you would ever figure out, or by happenstance, to ever stumble upon. Thus making you more dangerous to yourself than you are to anyone you disagree with.

One reason I haven’t listened to him is that, every time I turn it on, there’s either a commercial or he’s talking about football, himself, or petty politics. Has he talked about the NDAA, and the fact that it allows US citizens to be detained without a trial? Has he talked about MF Global pilfering $1.2 Billion from customers’ accounts? Has he talked about any of the other symptoms of the creeping tyranny that is our government? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, maybe I’ll give him another chance.

>>>If that’s the case, why is he leading in the Iowa polls?

They’re polling at “Occupy Des Moines”.

Polls are CRAP. They are not made to reflect opinion, they are made to SHAPE it. As soon as you get that - you’ll know they’re not worth the papers they’re printed in.

“Talkers magazine” is a left wing publication which minimizes Rush Limbaugh at every opportunity.

Typo in my post above--It should have said "And second of all, being conservative does not give one the right to mischaracterize or pigeon hole people."

If that’s the case, why is he leading in the Iowa polls?

Simple: Iowa = Idiots Out Walking Around.

I know, I used to live there. I escaped in 1997 and never went back.

Anyone who puts credence in this poll I'll simply remind you of one fact about the average Iowan's "intelligence" to vote: Barack Hussein Obama.

There's such a thing? Well, I dunno... when I lived in Altoona Iowa was already "occupied" if you know what I mean.

(Sorry about the IOWA crack...)
