Newt Gingrich now has that intangible that unfortunately our Republicans have been missing, except for Sarah Palin. It is called swagger. I am talking about the Contract with America creating, welfare reforming, budget balancing, race card killing, CNN bashing, Obama debate challenging swagger. More than confidence, it's pure belief and trust in his own ability to carry out the conservative cause while winning hearts and minds. Public arena winning, back room brawling, media manhandling, Newt is a seasoned, battle tested statesman who has finally found his rhythm.
It is very contagious to witness a confident conservative who can articulate our principles without apologizing and in the modern context. He can weave a verbal tapestry of past historical anchors with time tested truths from our founding fathers and tie them in with sometimes simple, real talk statements that resonate with all. I believe South Carolinians will admit to the entire nation on Saturday that they are feeling the ripple effect of a conservative message that transcends culture and race. If South Carolina says yes to Newt, Florida almost certainly will embrace this new confident message of idea driven conservatism. Obama has built his house of cards on race and class division, and Newt is the only conservative that can maneuver around these traps. Last Sunday, Newt stood in front of a predominantly African American church and eloquently laid out the conservative policy ideas that would benefit all Americans regardless of race. When was the last time you heard of any Republican figure sharing his heart with an African American church and proudly explain his ideas on how to help all Americans? That's swagger.
If there is one thing Texans admire, it is someone who is confident and willing to take on huge challenges. There is no doubt in my mind Newt Gingrich is the only conservative with the swagger needed to overcome a democratic opponent who is charismatic, billion dollar funded, and media protected. It is no longer enough for conservatives to only criticize and angrily point out the failures of our opposition. Americans are ready to embrace a center right, idea driven conservatism that is bold and a problem-solver. Newt knows he is the man to make it happen. This new found confidence is contagious to all conservatives who have been anxiously waiting to send a powerful message on election day.
Libs talk about “swagger” like it is a bad thing . . . sorry SWAGGER is a very good thing! I’m from TX and the South and I love strong “swagger”. It is Reaganesque, John Wayne and all that is good and strong. Sweater vests, ummm not so much. Rick Perry had “swagger” but faltered in the early debates. Voters seem drawn to it . . . Reagan won twice, W twice . . . they want a strong LEADER and not an affirmative action do nothing President.
Swagger beats pantywaist ten times out of ten.
Romney has always been the “Well, it looked good on paper” candidate.
I just want to thank the South Carolina Freepers that helped make this happen with boots on the ground. This is a such a gratifying turn around.

I will not vote for a candidate who dumped two wives after they fell ill with serious medical problems, cancer and ms, and married a younger blonde for wife number three. No way. There is no argument you can make that will get me to vote for Newt. Ever.
To the media, “swagger” describes the annoying way that a Republican walks when he really SHOULD know that his proper job is to don spectables like MacFly and go about getting his books smacked down in the hallway by huge, cool guys wearing Letterman jackets.
“Swagger” means they think we’re acting UPPITY and that we should stop.
This is a lie started by Mother Jones that has been repeatedly debunked. Newt’s wife NEVER had cancer, SHE asked him for a divorce PRIOR to having a biopsy done on a benign tumor. And Newt took her daughters to the hospital so that they could be with during this tough time.
Too bad that’s not how it happened, huh? Don’t believe me? Do some research.
I would love to hear Newt give the Patton speech. It would have Conservatives leaping to their feet to applaud and liberals quaking in terror.
Pigs can’t swagger? I guess you live in an area that has no ferals. If you are unlucky enough to be in the path of a feral charge, you might have a different opinion.
Voting on appearance is a losing proposition.
I would be deeply surprised that ANY politician is not revolting, my FRiend. Some hide it better than others. Even the esteemed Ronald Reagan characterized politics as the second oldest profession.
They all try to say the right things. That being said, Newt has been the only one that made me stand and applause during the debates.
He can, and will, take on Obambi.
You know who has swagger? Alpha males. Leaders.

Is Newt perfect? Hell, no. Was he my first choice? No again.
Was Reagan perfect? Was Churchill? Was Jefferson? Was King David?
God raises up whom He wills, and uses imperfect vessels like ourselves.

Newt will give the Patton speech and many more like it. His speech just concluded said he was going to fight Obama. Seven 3 hour debates plus he mentioned Saul Alinsky radical several times. That means he's going to take it to Obama and the MSM. Go Newt!
I have always said that anyone who wants to be President must have a vision for America. Sarah Palin and Rick Perry have it but Newt’s vision is so well articulated that it approaches Reagan’s shining city on a hill. That vision for America is what will likely win Newt the nomination.
