I don't trust Newt. His history shows he'll be whatever he has to be to get what he wants.

That said, if he is the nominee I will vote for him if only as a vote against Obama.

I think Newt should do the graceful thing and bow out so that Santorum can challenge Romney one-on-one.

You mean and have the possibility that a real conservative could win the nomination? Preposterous! This is the Republican Party, sir! Every possible effort is put into eliminating any chance a conservative will be the nominee. We are the "hold your nose" party, and proud of it. Please take your heresy elsewhere!

If Newt drops out and supports Rick, you will see a “Black Thursday” on Rick next. The GOP-E is for Mitt...he’s filthy rich, you know.

In general, I like "filthy" rich people and, if they earned their money legally, aspire to be more like them.

What is this dramatic "Black Thursday"? Did the market crash again and I didn't know about it?

He carries the Reagan torch GIVEN to him by Reagan.

Now that IS funny. The liberal progressives obviously do not have the market cornered on hyperbole.

Whoever comes in third has an advantage over fourth and that place is between Rick and the Nut.

Rick's supporters aren't going to abandon him and he ain't going to ask them to.

Hell, this is only the fourth state—there is plenty of time left to beat Mitt.

It's all academic anyway cause we in South Carolina picked Newt and when we pick you it's all over except the convention.

Calling him a suspect conservative is giving Gingrich far more credit than he deserves. As far as I’m concerned, Romney and Gingrich have already destroyed any chance the GOP has of taking the white house.

Despite fantasies to the contrary, Santorum getting out won’t win the nomination for anyone. I could skip the presidential slot on the ballot without the slightest twinge bothering my conscience.

Want to take an interesting look at “history”? Go back and look at some of the threads from the day Gingrich announced he was running.

Maybe Santorum knows that his own conservative credentials in no way measure up to Gingrich so he's running for the VP slot under Romney.

Newt wants to repeal Dodd-Frank and Sarbanes-Oxley. He also wants to repeal Obamacare and he wants to repeal all 3 on day 1 (with the help of Republican majorities in the House and Senate).

But what will happen to all the Washington, D.C. bureaucracy new-hires?

“I think Newt should do the graceful thing and bow out so that Santorum can challenge Romney one-on-one.”

I actually agree with this. I believe out of the three remaining Republican candidates (Ron Paul doesn’t count) Santorum is by far the best choice to go against 0bama.

Gingrinch certainly has his strengths, but they are more than offset by his weaknesses.

Today will be an interesting day in Florida.

How can he be suspect, when he has one of the highest lifetime conservative records?

Did you follow Newt during the last 10 years?

So you just admitted you don’t know TRUTH when you read it! There has been threads on this and a video of Nancy saying it.

You stay liberal because the liberal media feeds you their pablum - thanks for proving it!

Newt CARRIES THE REAGAN TORCH!

There has been threads on this and a video of Nancy saying it.

This is what Nancy said:

"And in turn, Ronnie turned that torch over to Newt and the Republican members of Congress to keep that dream alive."

You could say that Nancy stated that Reagan turned the torch over to Gingrich, but it would also be accurate to say that Nancy stated that Reagan turned over the torch to all 230 Republican members of the house of representatives. One of 230 torchbearers is not the same as sole heir torchbearer by a long shot.

So take back your Mitt-filled comment in your post when I said Newt was given Reagan’s torch. That will show if you have any credibility left.

And your wrangling of truth of what Nancy said is another mitt-filled comment. Trying to change history, mittbot?

Black Thursday was the day the GOP-E, Bob Dole, Elliot Abrams, Drudge and everyone dumped all their negative oppo research on Newt. There were 14 negative stories about Newt at Drudge and not a peep about anyone else. You can see what it did to his favorability rating.

You took a partial quote and attempted to deceive people with it. Par for the course with you. Your childish name calling leads me to believe you are nothing but an ignorant twit. I'm sure whichever candidate you back is real proud to have your support, with your obvious talent for persuasion.

I’ve been trying to tell Santorum supporters for a while now, he’s not the guy you think he is.. yes he’s a social conservative, but he LOST PA FOR A REASON (a mulititude actually) He’s liked outside of PA far more than INSIDE for a REASON folks.

This guy isn’t what you think he is, he’s not evil, but he’s not remotely this tried and true conservative that folks think he is.

He got trounced in PA by a virtual no show oponent because he deserved to be, not simply because it was a bad year for R’s not simply because he endorced Spectre, but because he systematically drove away those who would have been his allies by repeated acts that were counter to what he SAID he believed in.

This guy is playing spoiler and ensuring a romney nomination at this point, and that’s all he will ever be able to do.. and the longer he stays in to do this, the more its obvious that he’s working with the establishment to ensure Romney is the nominee. I don’t care what he says.
