Sarah Palin Is Wrong on Replacing Joe Biden with Hillary Clinton (She has 'em all lathered up!)
US News and World Report ^ | August 16, 2012 | Susan Milligan, Kennedy biographer

What is this fixation with replacing Vice President Joe Biden on the presidential ticket with Hillary Clinton?

Sarah Palin became the latest to make the suggestion, which is a pretty good indicator that it would be a bad idea—or at least, a bad idea for the Democrats. Palin, responding to Biden's remarks in Virginia that GOP contender Mitt Romney's plans for Wall Street would "put y'all back in chains," had the following advice, according to Fox News:

"If that's not the nail in the coffin, really, the strategists there in the Obama campaign have got to look at a diplomatic way of replacing Joe Biden on the ticket with Hillary. And I don't want to throw out that suggestion and have them actually accept the suggestion because then an Obama-Hillary Clinton ticket would have a darn good chance of winning."

True, Biden's comments had an unfortunate, although almost certainly inadvertent, racial underpinning to them, especially since his audience had a good share of African-Americans. But then, Romney's recent ad accusing President Obama of gutting welfare reform—a charge that has been widely discredited by independent fact-checkers—has a racial component as well. And telling Obama to "go back to Chicago," a city with a substantial African-American population, could arguably be cast as derisive towards urban America.

But the Clinton talk—which never comes from the White House, but more commonly, from Republicans or some Clinton die-hards who still can't accept that Clinton wasn't the nominee—is still baffling. Biden is an asset, even when he tends to say things without first editing them inside his head (in fact, there's something rather refreshing about that tendency). The vice president is one of the most substantive people in Washington, especially on foreign affairs and budget issues he dealt with for years on the Hill. His relationships with senators on both sides of the aisle help ease the brutally partisan environment in Washington that has kept the two branches from working together.

And while Clinton has done a stellar job as secretary of state, there's no evidence that she would enhance the ticket from an electoral standpoint. There's not only a disturbing degree of racism out there (the determined view that Obama is "other" is sadly proven by the number of people who still don't think he was born in the United States), but there's a strong backlash against female power as well. You think it's hard getting a woman or an African-American elected to high office? Try putting both of them on the same ticket.

Palin, of course, has a right to her opinion. But if she says a Biden-Clinton sub would have been good for the Democratic ticket, you can be well-assured it's not.

Also, what’s been all over the news lately?

Hillary’s girlfriend, Huma Abedin, has been planted in the State Dept by the Musloid Brotherhood.

Psy-ops? Hopefully so. Sarah knows the liberal media HATE her and by her going out and positing this publicly, she’s poisoning the idea. What? Sarah Palin has politics smarts enough to suggest 0bama will dump Biden for Hillary, and he DOES IT?????!!!!!!!!
I agree.

Plus, it recalls the Obama campaign's despicable treatment of Hillary in 2008, in case any PUMAs are paying attention.

Win, win.

alin’s suggestion is the fresh version of Limbaugh’s famed OPERATION CHAOS.

How'd that work out for us?

All Liberals, including Obama, will instinctively shy away from ANY idea if Sarah had anything to do with it.

At the same time it points out the abject hypocrisy of Obama claiming to be the “pro woman” candidate.

Fox’s corporate stand on Governor Palin changed after she rejected the Roger Ailes advice to hunker down during the aftermath of the Gabby Giffords shooting.

When she made her “blood libel” statement, it seemed to cause Ailes to turn against her.

Red on Drudge, Carney slams McCain for suggesting Hillary. Says he wouldn’t take advice from him regarding VP selection (yes a slam on Palin), but I think it was Palin who forced their hand. Talk all over the internet about bring in Hillary and it has been going on for a while. THAT would not have been good, but Palin coming out and giving advice killed the idea (for now). The switch Hilliary for Biden became more of a possibility with Biden’s latest hoof in mouth comments. She spoke up and THAT made if more difficult for them to take the Hillary route. They are only using McCain as an excuse, but Palin was the one who ‘messed things up’ for them, IMO.

Yet they can't drop her, she's the most popular and influential conservative figure since President Ronald Reagan! So they assign Greta Van Sustern, a liberal, Democratic attorney & Scientologist, as her handler. Gov. Palin just shrugs it off and they get along like peas and carrots.

If O's handlers actually decide to do this, the DNC press organs will suddenly about-face and tell us what a genius move this is.

Srah Palin, and now McCain have inoculated the race against the entry of Mrs.Bill as the kenyan’s VP. I suspect that was the goal.

I just love how someone they dismiss as stupid and irrelevant can give them all a collective seizure without raising a sweat. This one is a classic: “If Sarah Palin says it’s good for the Democrats, it isn’t.” There’s some in-depth analysis for you. Maybe she should tell them to vote for 0bama.

Sarah Palin...(...all lathered up!)

I’m kinda distracted by that headline.

You bad, bad boy. That hadn't occurred to me, but now that it does ... (you really are a corrupting influence... lol).

The great Gov. Palin short circuited Obama and the left. By calling out for Obama to do this, she increased the odds that it would not be done.

I would never want to play her in poker.

Biden is a substantial idiot. That’s why Obama picked him. Call it insurance, or call it racial balance. Either way, Obama has his white, court jester. That doesn’t mean he has to keep him, especially when his fool is costing him votes. There are plenty of slow-witted, white idiots in the Democratic Party. My advise to Obama is to drop Biden, and pick a Hispanic. He should keep Hillary as his incompetent Secretary of State. Then we can say Rainbow is the new Red, although gay is getting pinkish Red, so maybe he should pick a gay Hispanic, with a Hindu background. Obama’s supporters could be called the pinko coalition.

Ha ha ha

Sarah Palin got em with the ol’ “George Costanza” OPPOSITE strategy

(In one episode of Seinfeld, George decides that every decision he has made in his life has been wrong, so determines to do the opposite of what he thinks he ought to do...and starts experiencing success)

So if Sarah told them they should nominate Hillary - she knew they would do the opposite

A technique practiced by Mama Grizzlies all over the world, in dealing with contrary kids

an d saved our ticket

Sarah palin’s comments are more about defining the terms of the debate than offering advice. the statement is akin to asking a candidate”when did you stop beating your Wife?”. This question is not really a question at all. It defines the candidate as someone who beats their wife. That is its real purpose. Likewise what she has done here is to define joe Biden as an idiot. The question becomes “Joe Biden is a gaffe prone idiot, should he be replaced with Hillary”. Notice this author doesn’t even really defend Biden. Calls his mistakes refreshing. I saw where some Obama spokesperson called his phrasing”unfortunate”. No real defense against the idiot charge.
