Open Letter to Reince Priebus and the GOP
A Time For Choosing ^ | November 9, 2012 | Isabel Matos

Posted on 11/10/2012 4:45:44 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Well, the results are in and everything we predicted came true. Because we ARE patriots we supported YOUR candidate, Mitt Romney.

It is shameful the way the TEA PARTY and CONSERVATIVE base was dismissed, ignored and disrespected throughout the year. Ron Paul delegates were shut out of the process and denied their right to cast their votes for their delegate at the convention in Tampa. This was poisonous to our cause.

Sarah PALIN was also the most qualified person to lead the party this year and she was shunned. There will be people saying how it was her fault she didn’t do more, or that she is not qualified or experienced enough to be president should she decide to run.

I have news for you. The party is over. Your party. The GOP has failed and Mitt Romney lost because of his own mistakes. LIBERAL PROGRESSIVE REPUBLICANS never win races, even when they fake being REFORMED CONSERVATIVES. Let this be a lesson.

And may I add: YOU will not blame Sarah PALIN for what happened in 2012. She will NOT be scapegoated like she was by Mitt Romney’s advisors in 08. It will not be tolerated by us, her supporters, which represent MOST of the party base.

SHAME on you for NOT listening to us, for not heeding our warnings, and for being so obstinate and missing the point.

It’s time for YOU TO accept responsibility for this failure.

Sincerely yours,

Isabel Matos Miami, FL

You just keep living there in “purity” land while the rest of us live here in realville.
This is my last response to you.

You have a vivid imagination if you think Romney can win.

I actually worked every precinct in that district. And the fact is, there is no Republican Party there.

Not too hard for Dems to win overwhelming victories, that being the case.

I've had a couple of Freepers always johnny on the spot to attack me on that woman in that district every time I bring up Mike Steele by full name.

I"ve tried talking around the issue without naming him and they never show up, but whenever I name him, they start with the argument that the Republican candidate in America's most thoroughly Democrat district was ignored.

So, we don't even have a party organization there?

Could very well 'splain how she got ignored ~ A LOT!!!!!!

It is impossible for the general public to have a favorable opinion of an individual who has undergone the kind of media eviseration and battering the Palin family - all of them - have endured in the last 4-1/2 years.

I distinctly remember the Reagan family going through the same thing. Nancy Reagan was smeared by a front page article of the New York Times about a “love affair” with Frank Sinatra!

When Ronald Reagan ran against Jimmy Carter the negative press was just awful, calling him a grade Z actor, but his speeches were what won over the public so that he won the 1980 election.

Still, the negative belief that RR was slow and stupid has hung on until today. Research has proven he was neither.

What you’re saying about Palin being unelectable, is exactly the same argument used against Ronald Reagan

It is Palin's job to convince the electorate that she is electable.

So far she hasn't done it.

Hey, genius! She hasn’t been running for office yet has been a target of both Romney, the GOPe, and the Democratic Party.

They are scared shitless of that woman. Take a message from that fact. It speaks volumes!

Again, we had more recently won in that district than the Dems in Hastert’s. If we continue to concede, we shouldn’t be surprised at the outcome. The irony that a “minority” GOP chairman who would ostensibly be preaching “minority outreach” ignores such a race is very telling. The establishment was backing a White RINO, but when their candidate is beaten by precisely the kind of person we need to be touting, they pretend they don’t exist. Steele was not only a RINO, but incompetent. If we had had to have a Black Chairman for the 2009-2011 period, we should’ve put up Kenneth Blackwell, an actual Conservative of accomplishment.

I didn’t attack you. I was simply making a statement about the facts on the ground in districts like that one. There is no Republican Party. This is true in most of the urban areas of the country.

Blackwell didn’t make it ~ but the Illinois 5th district history is right here at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illinois’s_5th_congressional_district After Rostenkowski was caught stealing stamps and furniture at the Capitol they put a Republican in this district for one term. An anomaly. Anyone can see in the history that it’s been overwhelmingly Democrat since 1899 ~ truly the Holy of Holies of mind-numbed knee-jerk robot-like leftwingtardism in America!

Didn’t say you did ~ couple of other Freepers who are still tearing up over the fact a Republican who sought to campaign in that district was rather ignored.

1898 ~ long dry spell there littered a few times with the bodies of a Republican congresscritter ~ but this is the holy of holies for the Left.

If you need to run in such a district raise your own funds, or just hire somebody to take out the opposition ~ like the mob does.

None who went all in for Romney have no idea what ‘electable’ means.

Those Wikipedia CD histories aren’t entirely helpful because of redistricting and renumbering of seats. The 5th has only been the 5th since 1992, it was the 8th before that. The GOP previously won it in 1930, though the member was unseated. The 5th listed on the chart (from 1949-1993) is the current 3rd, and was the 4th pre-1949. The 5th pre-1949 became the 7th (1949-1973) and then the 11th (1973-1993) until it was dismantled.

I made and keep my own records to track CD histories. Regardless of their histories, we must not hesistate to aggressively contest them, especially when they come open. If the Democrats behaved as we did, Hastert’s seat would’ve stayed GOP after his resignation (indeed, not until 2010 did we reclaim the seat — and now the Dem winner of Hastert’s seat, who lost in 2010, aggressively ran against a GOP incumbent, Biggert, and beat her on Tuesday. That district, btw, hasn’t elected a Democrat since the 19th century. To use your phrase, a GOP “holy of holies”, so how did the Dems manage to win ?).

All again proves Steele’s prior management to be the epitome of incompetence and failure. Just imagine having a GOP Chair who understands the import of challenging EVERY seat regardless !

Then let her show how much power she has.

So far she has proven herself to be the paper tiger who didn’t roar.

..... and I don’t get the “scared shitless” statement.

Imagine if John Edwards and his children were doing reality TV shows..... how serious would you think he was about becoming president?

Or Dan Qyayle? Walter Mondale????

you do know there's an RNC Senate Campaign Committee and an RNC House Campaign Committee.

They are supposed to take care of these matters ~ in fact, when Preibus took away money slated for Akin he violated the rules ~ should be flensed for that alone!

Save me a big toe for my collection.

Are you prejudiced against people making money? The Clintons and Obamas went on all kinds of shows, some really tacky: so what! It is not like any of the Palins have property in other people’s names or multiple social security numbers.

And how would you feel if the lives of your small children had been threatened, as has happened to the Palins?

She is biding her time. I have no problem with that.
