Who I am Voting For (Texas)
Vanity | 2.19.2014 | Meanwesttexan

After due research, this is my voting list. I came back special to Midland for this vote, so want to make sure I am correct:

Would appreciate comments and concerns:

1. Senate --- Stovall (close second, Stockman) The Great Cornholio is a disgrace with what he said and has done to Cruz. He's got to go.

2. Governor --- Greg Abbot

3. Lt. Governor -- Dan Patrick (Do worst has to go)

4. Attorney General ---- Gen Paxton

5. Comptroller --- Harvey Hildebran, hands down (Met Glenn Hegar -- VERY unimpressed.)

6. Commisioner GLO --- David Watts. George P Bush is a nice kid, but I am sick to death of Bushes. Knocking him out will potentially keep Jeb from running for President, as it demonstrates Bush-fatigue.

7. Railroad Commissioner -- Ryan Sitton. He's an engineer, very pro-business, smart guy. I've met him and am impressed.

8. Supreme Court --- Hecht, Brown, and Johnson

9. State Senator -- reluctantly voting for Mike Cannon. I know Mike; don't particularly care for him, but the voting record of Kel Seligar is marginal, at best.

Also voting against my Congressman, Mike Conaway. He's marginally OK, but was a big Myth Romney supporter, so I am going for Brown.

I don’t like the Lt. Governor appointing Democrats to chair key committees ( the place where GOOD legislation goes to die) in the Senate when there is a LARGE Republican majority in that body as Dewhurst has repeatedly done. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ And you do know that your good buddy Dan Patrick endorsed Dewhurst when he faced Ted Cruz in the Run-off Election and that Dan Patrick dissed Ted Cruz on more than one occasion. I'd vote for a one-eyed crack whore before I'd vote for Dan Patrick.

Patrick only gets his conservative boots on at election time. Definitely not a friend of Ted Cruz. Cruz, by the way, is a great fan of Staples. Hotze is solidly behind Patrick and anyone that Hotze selects is not a friend of true Conservatives. Lt. Governor is one of the most powerful positions in Texas. Would hate to see Patrick in that spot.

Listen to Grams folks. He is telling the honest to goodness truth. I'd vote for a one-eyed crack whore before I'd vote for Dan Patrick.

Who can I call to find out if Farm Bureau is endorsing Jonh Cornyn. I have all my vehicles and and houses insured with Farm Bureau and if this is true, I will cancel my policies and go somewhere else.

Call your agent or the home office and ask why they’re using your premium dollars for political purposes.

I read Your Post. You said you’re voting for Dan Patrick for Lt. Governor. How does that make me stupid.

There is no endorsement for U.S. Senate. It has all the other Elections, but no U.S. Senate endorsement.

Horseshit!

I personally listened to the Cruz interview! Dan WAS tough on him but there never was a Dewhurst endorsement!

I just checked my phone log which shows - TX Farm Bureau 254-751-2615. I then did a search for the number and it shows someone else got a call from them yesterday, too. I don’t understand what the Eastland and Hamilton indicate at the link. Please, let me know what you find out from your agent.

Read the thread, moron.

I see the gene pool is still shallow in the piney woods.

With the negatives on Patrick, I may go with Staples as the one with the least negatives. I also think Staples will finish fourth, but that would not be a consideration in my votes. I think the order of finish will be Dewhurst, Patrick, Patterson, Staples. Dewhurst and Patterson are very close to the Bushes.

Don’t hang up on the low-paid caller; just make them think you are with them. Skew their calls.

Empower Texas has a list of their endorsed candidates and I pretty much agree with them:

It’s good that Farm Bureau is NOT endorsing in the U.S. Senate Primary here in Texas. If they would have endorsed Cornyn, I’d call them up and tell them I am cancelling all the policies I have with them.

A friend’s son is running down there. Matt Beebe. He’s running against Joe Straus. I don’t keep up on Texas politics, but even I know Straus is a RINO.
