Sarah Palin To Campaign for Pat Roberts in Kansas Amid Lingering Grassroots Anger
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | September 23, 2014 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Posted on 09/24/2014 12:42:53 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sarah Palin will campaign for incumbent Republican Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) in Independence, Kansas on Thursday. Roberts is in need of help from the Tea Party favorite, as recent polls show he trails independent Greg Orman in this fall's general election.

Last week, the Kansas State Supreme Court granted Democratic nominee Chad Taylor's request to be removed from the ballot, setting up a two-person race between Roberts and Orman.

Roberts defeated Tea Party challenger Dr. Milton Wolf in the August 5 Republican primary by a relatively narrow margin of 47% to 41% in a bitterly personal contest that left many grassroots activists in Kansas disgusted with the heavy handed tactics of the Republican establishment. Roberts was hurt by Wolf's attacks on his residency claims, a weakness that may have sparked the strange turn of events that led to the withdrawal of Taylor and the rise in the polls of Orman.

The question is how far Palin's appearance in Kansas on behalf of Roberts will go to bring the embittered grassroots back to the Republican side....

A political party can't last like that. Something needs to change.

The party professionals disagree. We'll all see if anything changes this November.

Who exactly is this Orman guy and who is supporting him? Certainly Democrats are. Who else?

All the RAT operatives (or sincerely damaged) people on this thread!

Its OK for her to be there, but the notion that there is “lingering grassroots anger” may set us up for reporting from “Breitbart” and other places that there is no more dissent from the grassroots right before the election.

NO MORE VOTES FOR RINO’S LIKE COCHRAN, MCCONNELL, ALEXANDER, TILLIS, SCOTT BROWN AND THE LIST GOES ON.....

NO VOTES FOR RINO GOVERNORS LIKE RICK SCOTT OR TOM CORBETT HERE IN PA.....

There is a vacuum of leadership and I await America’s answer to Nigel Farage.

The two big parties are smear machines that support the elites and not the grassroots taxpaying citizen.....

What if Roberts retires within a year of the election and the Gov appoints a young conservative to hold the seat in the interim?

Two problems with that. A) there is no reason to believe that Roberts would do that, and B) Brownback's got his own problems and is no shoe-in for re-election.

Oh well in that case the smart thing to do is elect the Pro-choice, Pro-amnesty, Pro-Obamacare guy.

That’s true - even in Reagan’s GOP, the establishment was close to having power. Just like Cruz is not that far from having power. These things are more like 55-45 than 100-0.

And if Republicans win, some squishy Republicans will improve simply because they will gain more confidence and get over some of the PTSD they suffer from.

Dang. Our wires are crossed. I’ll have to pay more attention and maybe do only 3 things at a time instead of about 5.....

Sorry bout that, sincerely.

Sarah Palin is still supportive of John McCain, which I wouldn’t be. I still support Sarah and hope she comes around to establishing her independence and leading conservatism in this country in opposition to the GOPe.

McCain and Graham support the New World Order, not the sovereignty of the United States or the integrity of its borders.

That would be Ted Cruz, and it would sure help him a lot if he could gain control of the Senate he currently whips where and whenever able.

You Kansas folks, don’t vote for Roberts because you LIKE him, do it to empower Cruz with the Majority.

It concerns me greatly.

What, that she's supporting Pat Roberts and not Greg Ormon?

I'm confused.........

If the Republicans have total power in DC perhaps people will finally get it when they impose a national sales tax like the RINO type Prime Minister Brian Mulroney did in Canada in the 1980’s.

The sales tax to finance skyrocketing government cost from national health care and such in our northern neighbor ignited a third party Reform Party up there and destroyed the old PC Party forever.....

That's also what we've been asked to do in SC regarding LG this November.

The logical flaw in the rants against RINOs and other impure conservatives in the minds of the purists is that they have compartmented the the argument to exclude Democrats and what they do. That is not a problem that can await solution while the party is purged. Politics has never worked that way in this country and I don’t expect it to change.

78 year old Pat Roberts will be 84 at the end of his next term. Way to groom the young blood,

Uh, Roberts is the only guy who threw his hat into the ring......so where is the new young guy you're looking for and why didn't he volunteer for the job?

Sorry Miltie, it's personal desire that drives an individual to enter the political arena.........

The Primaries Are Over. We fought as hard as we could. We got Cantor. Now let’s take the Senate. Cruz, Lee, Sessions and others can’t build conservative coalitions if they Don’t Have The Senate.

Just look forward. I wish we could have dumped Cornyn here in Texas, but it just didn’t happen. We didn’t win ‘em all.

Eyes on the Prize: Senate.

Well, here's hoping the Republicans win the Senate in November.
Sure do hope Cruz, Lee, and Sessions fare well building their coalitions.
