(October 29, 2014) What did Sarah Palin mean by hinting at running for office?
Houston, TX The Examiner ^ | October 29, 2014 | Mark Whittington

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Sarah Palin recently raised eyebrows by hinting on the Fox Business Network on Tuesday that she might be open to running for public office sometime in the future. Hitherto she has been content to be a gray eminence, using her considerable influence as the most powerful female politician on the planet to support other candidates. So why would she all of the sudden publicly flirt with the idea of getting into the arena in her own right?

Hot Air concludes, quite correctly that she will not likely run for president in 2016. Ted Cruz, Palin’s ideological soul mate, is almost certain to run in that year, and Palin will be solidly in his corner. Besides, Palin’s moment had been in 2012, when she could very well have been the conservative not-Romney candidate. For reasons best known only to her, Palin allowed that cup to pass from her lips.

One reason Palin let out the hint is that it gets people talking about her and her political future. She even hinted that part of her purpose was to tweak the legions of Palin haters who infest the Internet with invective about her. The mere possibility that Palin might become a governor (again) or a senator is enough to make heads explode, but also the politically savvy to include that prospect in their calculations.....

What do you think was the OP´s reason for posting an article almost a month old? It wasn’t too entertain comments in my opinion. The is no new news about Palin for him to slather over so he resurrected this article.

I agree with you, btw. Palin’s in the news when she wants publicity.

I would love to have President Palin do for America what she already did for Alaska, starting by systematically fighting corruption in both political parties (which is one reason the GOPe doesn’t like her). However, I won’t take her seriously until she officially announces. Until that (unlikely) time, I’m backing Cruz.

“Just my humble opinion okay?”

and noted as such, but when opinions are back faced as arguments, then humble is out the window.

As another opinion noted, this is an old article meant to do what? The endless speculation is just that, on both sides.

Keep her name in the national conversation. Palin isn’t going to run for anything.

McCain is not retiring, willingly. He has already said in the past few weeks he is running again, despite his promise not to run again when he ran the last time. Those campaign videos of him snarling about he will close these borders if elected is going to be like those of Obama saying the past election was not about him, but instead about his policies.

Your post identifies you as someone who lacks the intelligence to recognize reality and true facts.

Your post is typical of RINO/leftist propaganda.

Josef Goebbels would be proud of you.

She should run for Congress from Alaska—we could use her in Washington—but my bet is she will not run for anything—she was rendered toxic by Tina Fey and the MSM (with a little help from the Vichy Republicans).

I would like to add one more group, the everyday voter. The left’s and rights smear of Palin could have been stopped if regular people stood up to these jerks, but sadly, I have seen that they won't. I have done so many, many times, while other so called Conservatives in the room sit quietly, then whisper to me how much they like her. Hey, thanks for the backup.

“She will run for the senate in Arizona when McCain retires.”

Two reasons that ain’t gonna happen.

1) She will be too old by the time McCain retires.

2) That seat is spoken for. Go Steve Smith!

Well 3 reasons

3) She does not live in Arizona and as much as I like Palin, I would NEVER vote for a carpetbagger. I would also work as hard against her as I could.

Ummm, Sarah Palin was a governor, FRiend.

There are far better choices among the governors if you're looking to fill the second slot.

Sadly, I think Cruz is an underdog for the nomination—as is Palin for his veep. But she, of course, has experience as governor to fit into your equation.

Also, Walker is hyper-pro-amnesty/open borders. If he were ever to be made president he’d be the last GOP or “conservative” president this country ever had.

Oh, back on subject .... Palin is probably hinting at a 3rd party (tea party) candidate for Pres — should the need arise. Love for her to run vs McCain ... wouldn’t that be juicy and politically salacious.

if another rino steals, i mean wins the nomination, we all better hope there is a 3rd party ready to go. If not, we will have another dem as potus.

I like Sarah. I instinctively like her. I voted for her. Her stepping down in the face of a leftist onslaught bothered and still bothers me.

Here’s what bothers me, she helped the right at a time when her job was going great. The rino mccain sat back and did NOTHING after the loss to help her out. The state of Alaska was using valuable resources to fight these stupid lawsuits, so she did the right thing, since there was a competent person to step into the role.

How is the Tea Party in Arizona? I hope McCain get primaries by a TP member.

So, when a politician runs for a different office and wins it, then quits his current office term to take on the next term, tell me why that’s not the same. Politicians do it ALL the time. Quitting is quitting, is it not?

Whether stepping down as Gov. of Alaska was right or wrong, it made her look weak. Not a good look for a presidential candidate.
