Jeb Bush eases out of some businesses, such as firm helped by Obamacare
The Los Angeles Times ^ | December 25, 2014 | Joseph Tanfani

Posted on 12/25/2014 7:55:26 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

When Jeb Bush completed two terms as governor of Florida in 2007, he reported his net worth at $1.3 million, about $700,000 less than when he took office..

Today, nearly eight years later, he is a wealthier man. He has plunged into business and entrepreneurial ventures involving consulting, the paid lecture circuit and energy development. He has developed real estate, advised international investment banks and joined high-paying corporate boards.

But as he considers a run for president in 2016, Bush has begun to unwind some of his financial affairs, apparently to avoid the kind of criticism that hobbled fellow Republican Mitt Romney in his unsuccessful bid for the White House in 2012.

Bush is quitting Tenet Healthcare Corp. — a company that has profited from Obamacare — and is ending a consulting contract with Barclays Bank to focus on his political future. Aides say he also has stopped giving highly paid speeches to focus on traveling America, meeting with potential donors and testing what a friend calls a “visionary” brand of campaigning....

In looking over the businesses Jeb is now unburdening, it is obvious he never asked himself whether he should invest in them. Having the commonsense to consider right from wrong seem lacking in Jeb Bush’s character.

He should have asked himself simple questions before he invested. Does this business hurt the middle class? Is socialized medecine good for the USA? Investing in a business that hides income from USA regulations - is this wise politically?

He was interested in earning moolah, no matter who he hurt.

This is not a man who should be President.

Jeb, in my very limited experience, is considerate and thoughtful. However, his willingness to govern by strict Constitution defined limits is minimal and far too flexible.

Sounds like the are pubs are looking for yet another Michael Dukakis type whose role is to lose graciously. I’ve seen enough of this RINO to conclude I will absolutely not vote for him under any circumstance.

Jeb Bush proved himself totally unfit and unworthy to hold public office when, through cowardice, he murdered Terri Schiavo. He is totally unrepentant.

He got money from Barclays because of his family name. No other reason.

Why does he need to ease out of what he’s doing? Is it because he’s corrupt? So he can fool the American People?

He’s less qualified that W ever was. W had a better education. W had more success in business. And W had served in our military. That said, I wouldn’t vote for W again and I certainly wouldn’t vote for Jeb.

“Why does he need to ease out of what he’s doing?”

Yep. Because it’ll look bad, and in order to lie your way in your BS has to be “clean”. Ha! What a SNAFU this will turn out to be. Good luck with that Jeb. All he can be is the lib-approved straw man for Hil or Liz or whomever to burn down.

I spoke to a dear Senior Citizen Conservative friend Christmas Eve. We spoke of the 16' race, and how the E-GOP is angling to hand us a RINO. I told him no, I will not hold my nose again after how the E-GOP has treated me and others during the last couple of elections cycles.

I told him, last time I voted for Ann Romney because I wanted a new 1st lady, and I am tired of doing that kind of thing.

But his canned response is what surprised me, he was already trying to talk me down from the ledge of not holding my nose again. That you have to vote R no matter what.

Their are many that are less Conservative than us here that will try to convince us to pull the R lever in 16'. IMHO, if it is Jeb, Mitt, Chris "Bobby Bacala" Christie it will have me looking for a 3rd party or not voting at all which is what I think they want, they rather have us slide-lined.

Please Ted Cruz, run 3rd Party....

It has been a while, but if my memory is correct about 12 years ago, if you dug into it, Barclays was the provider of the "Mutual Funds" in the Federal Workers TSP "Thrift Savings Plan" aka their 401(k).

FR Financial Wonks, is my data correct?

This is not a man who should be President

I've read and heard that Jeb speaks mostly only Spanish at home. For me, this man's head is not in the right place.

I don't want a president that concentrates so much on being able to pander to a particular voting segment. I want a president that wants this country to be sovereign, to have tradition, and to be proud of its history.
