MANCHESTER, Ga. Though presidential politicians have long ignored Georgia, the towns and villages in this primarily rural state celebrate their historic connection with Washington power. White House Parkway cuts through this area. The sign in front of the police station in Warm Springs, population 413, touts a century-old tie to Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and locals quickly point out that former President Jimmy Carter lives within an hours drive.
And yet its been decades since this place was relevant in any presidential contest: Aside from Carter, the last candidate anyone remembers campaigning here was John F. Kennedy.
Its the Manchester 1,200 miles to the north, in New Hampshire, that is supposed to matter during primary season. Not this one.
But in an attempt to flex more muscle in the Republican nominating contest, and potentially boost a candidate with solidly conservative credentials, a half-dozen of the reddest of Southern red states are aiming to band together and hold a Southern Super Tuesday on the earliest possible date. Under the emerging 2016 primary calendar, places like Manchester, Ga., could carry new sway in some ways acting as an antidote to the famously independent voters up north.
When you look at where the heartland of the Republican Party is right now, its a lot of these Southern states, said Joel McElhannon, a GOP consultant in Georgia....

WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT THE ILLEGALS? ARE WE WAITING FOR THEM TO VOTE?
Conservative ....bs...the republican state house here just hit us with a 35% gas tax increase as they partnered with the democrats to pass a budget.
There are no conservatives in ga...starting with our ex democrat turned republican gov.
when in college in chattanooga, we went to rockville to buy socks from the knitting mills there. (1970) we asked directions from one of the locals and the guy said where are you from. we told him and his response was “you’ll georgia crackers now.” I worked a day rolling sod near there working my way thru school. the sod rolls were about half the size of me. the owner boss was impressed that i did it.
I could be wrong, but my understanding is that GA did pass some kind of bill that would prevent the illegals from receiving any type of taxpayer assistance whatsoever. The bill was ready for the Governor to sign but the GOP party bosses swept in and put major pressure on the GA state gov’t to squash the bill.
Once again it was the GOPe doing the damage.
As long as Bonehead is leader, GOP is GOPe.

In light of the recent inauguration of the Ted Kennedy shrine, er museum, The Boston Globe needs to be reminded of it’s complicity in silencing the morning after news report of a crime enacted upon one poor forgotten Maryjo Kopecni(sp), driven to and imprisoned within a motor vehicle sunk off the Chappaquidick bridge by an inebriated former Harvard swim team member named Ted Kennedy.
I agree.
Vote
Vote them all out.
I am done with the republican party in Georgia.
And your GOPe leaders in Georgia have roadblocked and criticized First Amendment religious freedom legislation in obedience to the corporate elites that support them.
They didn’t even pass a law to gut it later like the Republicans did in Arkansas and Indiana.
Don’t forget Dawsonville...home of NASCAR’S Awesome Bill....
No Georgia passed the second strictest immigration law next to AZ a couple of years ago and we got rid of a lot of the worst illegals. But we still have a big problem. The illegals can’t get welfare or a driver’s license etc. but what they do is pop out an anchor baby or 10 and then run down to DEFAX or wherever and sign the US citizen kid up for all the freebies. There is always a way around everything. We also have Voter ID which we had to go to court 2 times to fight the DOJ off for.
That being said Georgia is a red state as far as the Republicans controlling the state house and all elected state positions but its top heavy with RINO’s. Nathan Deal our Federal dollar Hoe Governor is really bad news.
Once again it was the GOPe doing the damage.

Well, in that case, Ted Cruz needs to get to GA fast, and spend a good 3 solid days there; be the first to start spreading the Conservative message and line up “committed supporters” NOW!!!
