It's Official: Jeb Bush is a Dud
The Huffington Post's The Blog ^ | May 14, 2015 | Lev Raphael, author, reviewer and blogger

It's not just Gail Collins of the New York Times who's noticed that Jeb Bush is making a mess on the campaign trail or whatever trail he's on. That's despite the fact he's always been considered competent (compared to his brother, of course). As a humorist, Collins is having fun picking him apart, though she does seem honestly surprised.

But even fellow Republicans like Rand Paul, Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio have attacked him for saying he would have gone to war in Iraq in 2003 even if had known the intelligence was faulty, and they've watched him twist like a pretzel as he's tried to explain himself. Even more embarrassing, he's invoked his brother as a foreign policy adviser. He's also been made to look foolish by a college student pointing out the holes in his logic about how ISIS came to be formed.

Here's what I wrote back in February, and I wonder why it took someone as astute as Gail Collins to figure out what was so damned obvious:

Jeb Bush has been making candidate noises for awhile now and if you wondered what he might be like as a candidate or wanted insight into his character, he gave plenty this week.

He's lazy. And maybe not all that bright.

As The Washington Post reports, he just spoke at a Chicago Council on Global Affairs luncheon. So you'd think someone who wanted to be president, or was at least considering it, might have studied up on some foreign policy issues. Think again....

I'm shocked that I agree with this Marxist Liberal about anything, but that statement was dead on!

That's exactly how Jeb Bush comes across.

How dare he think he deserves this job or even a shot at it.
I hope he is done but American politics is a crazy thing.

And I hope the money doesn’t go to Rubio, who, unfortunately, I think is a closet amnesty guy.

Cruz is the only consistent one out of ALL of them. It’s just the truth.

So true. But based on the last 7 Republican primaries, that means he wins.

Jeb got the question about the war with Iraq and flubbed it.

HOW IN THE WORLD COULD HE HAVE NOT BEEN EXPECTING THAT QUESTION???? If he wasn’t prepared for that question, he certainly isn’t prepared to be president.

Seems he would have had a well planned and thought out answer for that question. He flubbed it.

Anyone that would put money behind this man is an idiot.

It doesn’t take any great intelligence to see this guy is a slug. He has zero personal appeal; his greatest area of enthusiasm is for unbridled amnesty for illegals; which is a very unpopular cause among anyone who considers themselves conservative or even republican. He’s clearly no great intellect; and the time he has been out of office he has shown zero interest in anything but making money. (which is fine)

He is a candidate selected for two specific purposes: 1: Being so completely mediocre, that Hillary, the chosen candidate, even with her many faults, will win. If nominated and if he runs, he will probably serve that exact purpose. And 2: To raise (via name recognition) so much money in the front end of the campaign so that by the time he is shown to be unelectable later on, even a modest amount of spillover and slosh in terms of unspent funds will fatten his and Karl Roves’ pockets when they lose and have to withdraw from the campaign early.

That’s all there is to it.

Steady boys. The Lefties will say that about any Republican. Lazy? Compared to whom? Obama has been phoning it in for 6 years. Yeah, Jeb is a bit of a fogey in the personality department... but then so was his Dad. And he is plenty bright enough. It would be hard for any normal American to be dumber than Obama ... and people voted for him, IIRC.

The reasons we should be against the Bush Wimp ver. 3 is that:
(a) He is a progressive big government geek
(b) He thinks turning the USA into a Latin American country is way cool
(c) He could never in a million years beat Hillary or equivalent
(d) He is dull.

OTOH, his negative traits do have one positive effect: he makes Romney look like a positively scintillating, witty, handsome babe magnet!

This is the baggage that Jeb brings with him. The left has to be loving it, it works very well for them.

Come on Man....it was nice that the HuffPo spent so much time and effort chasing that Jeb car, barking all the way like it was a real threat.

Jeb is one of the candidates of the left. They promoted him but he’s making a clown show out of it.

Someone said on FNC (IIRC Megyn’s show) the other night that they thought he was anticipating a question on Iraq and had a canned response, but it was to “would you have gone into Iraq” not “if you KNEW NOW what you didn’t know THEN would you have gone into Iraq”. Obviously, he didn’t listen to the question closely enough or he just wanted to use his canned response. I’m not a Jeb Bush for President fan by any means (Cruz gal here), but I watched the interview and he did say more after saying, yes, he would have gone into Iraq, even Hillary voted for it, all intelligence pointed to Sadam having WMD, etc.
