No way that I’d ever vote for Trump.

Donald Trump has never been, nor will he ever be a member of the Tea Party. But that will never stop far left pinheads like Maher from pushing that little piece of fiction anyways.
Meanwhile, we all know that creatures like Maher are a direct creation of the devil, but we still don't keep harping on.about it.

I am keeping an open mind at this time. I have to see the debates, and results of primaries through SC, before I send any cash to candidates.

*****

Just wondering: If Trump offered you or one of your relatives a two year lease on an apartment at his Trump Tower in New York RENT FREE, would you or a relative jump at the offer?

All you have to do is this: Write Trump a short letter in which you say this: " In the two years of my rent-free lease at Trump Tower, I will not say anything publicly negative about Trump. This means that I will leave it up to the rest of the American public to present their view about Trump, good or bad. I will stay neutral."

Note: Those tv commentators and other media people who blast Trump and laugh at his run for President: : I wonder how many of them would quickly accept a Trump offer like this one to live in the Trump Tower in New York: A 2 year lease on an apartment at 1/2 half price for two years no strings attached?

I bet several of them would accept Trump's offer without feeling one bit guilty.

Maher needs to post a list of his own apologies for things he has spouted off about.

“He would no doubt like to be, but as a liberal democRAT, that’s not going to happen.”

I’ve noticed your many posts on Trump; you don’t like him, and that is okay. However, you insist that he is a liberal. He has said liberal things in the past, I’m sure. But now he is saying conservative things that he has maintained for at least six years, some much longer. So why is it that you choose to believe things he has said in the past, but not now? It is as if you can, from a distance, perceive when he is being honest and when he is being false. Example: Bill Cassidy here in Louisiana won the senatorial election run off last December. He campaigned, basically, as a tea party candidate. He pledged from his heart to do certain things for the state and nation. The very things he pledged to do, he literally turned around and violated those pledges in THREE days. My point being that politicians will say anything. Now, as for Trump, he stands by what he says against a firestorm. When was the last time you saw that?
And, importantly, in the past he has contributed to politicians; they have not contributed to him. They won’t.

He’s right. Trump is only saying what he thinks the right wants to hear because what he did last time got him nowhere.

A candidate will say whatever he or she has to say to get your vote. The real and smarter way to know what they are about is to look at their record and not their words. Never trust what they say. ALWAYS look at what they have done. That's the way it is always done.

I'm guessing you are either relatively young or new to politics because I know I have seen it many times. Political candidates say things every election cycle. It's not impressive. It's doesn't impress me. Let me put this in words you might understand. Former Texas governor Rick Perry while running for president will talk tough on immigration. But he has a RECORD of having been pro-ILLEGAL immigration the entire time he was governor of Texas. Do you see my point? If we were to believe what he says now we would think he was tough on ILLEGAL immigration but his record proves he is not. Always look at their record and not what they say while running.

And, importantly, in the past he has contributed to politicians; they have not contributed to him. They won’t.

That's just the opposite of what his other defenders in this forum are saying in his defense. They say that as a businessman he had to grease the palms of certain politicians to get things done. So which is it?

Trump can say all he wants as a newly minted conservative but his record as a decades long liberal democRAT say otherwise. Again, believe what you want, but his record is what proves who and what he is.

I hope that helps.

I don’t disagree with what you say, at all.

“They say that as a businessman he had to grease the palms of certain politicians to get things done. So which is it?”

How can anyone deny he has given to politicians? I think he was probably greasing the palms of certain politicians. A legal, out-in-the-open gift is not bribery. A gift is an acknowledgement. You give respect to a judge when you appear in court. MOST people go out of their way to greet their boss in the morning. That is their gift of acknowledgment of the scheme of things. Trump knows how to play the game. Who came out on top?

A gift is a form of flattery. Is there anywhere in the world a man who is so self-righteous that he will not give gifts to a woman he is pursuing? That is the way of the world:

Proverbs 18:16 - “A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.”

Proverbs 21:14 - “A gift in secret pacifies anger, and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.”

Proverbs 17:6 - “A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that has it; whithersoever it turns, it prospers.

And there are more.

“ALWAYS look at what they have done.”

I also agree. That is why I was outraged at Cruz for voting to give Obama more power, and to aid Obama in his effort to by-pass the Constitution with the trade bill, and Cruz has been positioning himself as a champion of the Constitution and has criticized Obama for his power grabs.

As for taking a politician at his word: Of the candidates for president I have voted for, I have so far only trusted Reagan. I think my perceptions were accurate. I’ve seen Trump on TV for many, many years, and although most of the talk was not about political policy, he always came across as someone with a good stock of common sense.

The man wants to be our next president so we must consider his political policies and apply what you say is his "common sense".

A man who you say has "common sense" wants to ban "assault weapons" even though there is no such thing.

A man who you say has "common sense" wants to extend the waiting periods to purchase a gun even though doing so does not prevent gun crime.

A man who you say has "common sense" has praised as "Brilliant" gun-grabbing leftist Michael Bloomberg for "Putting His Money Where His Mouth Is" on guns.

You classify as "common sense" a man who has said, "the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans".

The list goes on.

Trump may show what you deem "common sense" in the business world, and that may very well be true. But in the world of politics, he is veritable idiot.
