The Second Amendment is about more than that.

I believe you, though, from the standpoint of self-defense. That's also true for many people in cities. But many rural people need semi-automatic rifles. The possibility of being attacked from great distances by snipers is real for them. Many of them live in houses with no nearby cover, and there are no police nearby.

Not sure if people in rural area are in as much danger as the poor folks living in big city ghetto’s. It is criminal to take their guns away by imposing restrictions and fees. Every American has the right to defend life and property with firearms. But not cannons and howitzers and mortars. Those are military grade weapons.
