It is an old story. One-issue fanaticism tends to be self-destructive, even when the issue is a valid one.
For starters, the Club does not seem to care about ethnic or cultural continuity, which to a great many people will trump the purely material economic theories of the Club. (As a lifelong Conservative, I am in that latter category.

I agree, good post! I never thought one issue are good for conservatism. Whether it is guns, abortion, illegals, over spending, taxes, environment, etc. To be a good conservative is to look at all issues on which a candidate stands.
