I just watched a historical on Goring. They interviewed Luftwaffe pilots and the comment that most struck me was that the Luftwaffe leadership was appointed for political reasons not technical reasons. So when they lead in war they didn’t know what they were doing. This lead to excessive losses and contributed to the eventual loss of the war. We are doing exactly the same thing.
A symptom of that is the recent flap about altering intelligence on ISIS to suit the political needs of the Administration. Do you think the Administration hasn’t adjusted the officers everywhere to achieve their political goals? What will the impact of that be if we get into a war?
