I wanted to like candidate Carson. As I learned of his positions I could not support him. His only asset to me was his kind demeanor. So much for that!

Welcome to politics. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve heard campaigns say “Cruz is unelectable” or whoever else is unelecable. Ignore it or believe it. That is the way it works.
