Yup.

You’re a ‘true, Christian conservative’...

Great representative of your group.

Infancy is the bread and butter of campaign Trump.

Too bad that this particular infant is a Cruzbot.

Check out his posts. The vanity was great fun.

I’ve offered to debate energy issues, I’ll discuss regulations, subsidies, etc. but your strategy is to call me names? I hope you don’t teach this sort of stuff.

Could it be that he's going to keep up oil subsidies?

What oil subsidies?

Name them.

The oil industry leases mineral rights on Federal land and offshore, those mineral rights go up for auction and different oil companies bid for the rights to explore and drill wells.

In the event the Federal Government actually issues the necessary permits to build the location, road, and to drill the well, and that well is successful, the Federal Government gets paid a royalty percentage of the oil produced.

That is essentially the same deal private mineral rights owners get.

The biggest difference is that when you are dealing with the Federal Government for rights of way for pipelines and roadways there are several more studies which are required to be conducted and permits to obtain before actually running a pipeline or road. (That is the reason there is significantly more gas flared on BLM locations than private ones, because of the additional difficulty in getting a pipeline run to get that raw wellhead gas to a processing facility where it can have the natural gas liquids, water, and other contaminants removed so it can be pipelined out to market.)

The oil patch isn't getting any subsidies. Instead you have cheaper gasoline and natural gas today because we fought the Government's attempts to ban hydraulic fracturing (an 80 year old industry).

On the other hand, ethanol is mandated as a fuel additive, and that is a subsidy--but that just creates headaches for refiners and fuel distributors, and costs us all money.

Cruz did say he would do away with the ethanol mandate.

If you were ever under the impression that working on an oil rig is as safe as being a secretary, let me dispel that now. It isn't. We work with pressures exceeding 2000 psi, we work with flammable gasses and liquids in the area, a single joint of drill pipe (30 ft. section) weighs in at 1500 lbs. It is hard and dangerous work often carried out in adverse conditions by men who work 12 hour shifts on equipment that runs 24/7/365.

Despite that, go look up the ten most dangerous jobs.

According to Forbes, the top ten are:

1. Logging workers

2. Fishers and related fishing workers

3. Aircraft pilot and flight engineers

4. Roofers

5. Structural iron and steel workers

6. Refuse and recyclable material collectors

7. Electrical power-line installers and repairers

8. Drivers/sales workers and truck drivers

9. Farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural managers

10. Construction laborers

What? The oilfield didn't make the list?

Well is that because they are hiding the dead?

NO. Over the last 20 years drilling and well servicing and other service companies have been aggressively pursuing a safer workplace, with oil company safety personnel inspecting rigs, and drilling company safety personnel doing the same. OSHA has weighed in, too. Personnel are subjected to pre-employment drug screening and random checks as well.

That doesn't prevent all accidents, but it has been enough to reduce them to the point that being a rig hand doesn't even rate in the top ten most dangerous jobs any more. In fact, it is more dangerous to be a garbage collector, even if getting squashed by a truck is less spectacular than the rare rig fire.

I had some disagreements with General Forrest but came to respect. I was sorry to see him disappear, I can’t find any of his posts.

Why you bump ancient post?

Forrest’s FReeper ID was “Nathan Bedford”, he was apparently banned (I don’t know why). His posts are still there.

C. Edmund Wright went full-blown loony toons, his FReeper page is still there, but with red lettering across the top explaining his “Zot”’ting. I had a nasty exchange with him in 2015 when I picked apart his preferred Presidential candidate, Newtie, and he lost his bowels and compared me to “dead Nazis.” He claimed that because he was a “best selling author”, that gave him carte blanche to compare me to mass murderers.

I saved two posts from the exchange to show how... deranged... he got. Take a gander:

Not invested in Newt per se at all - which is said many times in my best seller election book - in hundreds of radio interviews and TV interviews - I’m invested in IDEAS - and Newt was the only one to deal in the idea of conservatism v liberalism. Well, Cain for a while, but mainly just Newt.

I’ve said that anyone in the field carrying Newts message would have been great and would have won. But no one in that field was willing or capable to do so. I’m all about IDEAS and only interested in people in politics relative to their ideas. PERIOD.

Like most people called Field Marshall....mostly dead Nazis.....you don’t know half the shit you think you do.

You are just spouting off what the estab hacks at Fox and inside Rove’s super PAC and inside Romney’s campaign are doing. You just quote blah blah blah conventional wisdom because you’ve never had an original thought...not one I’ve seen.

“Like most people called Field Marshall....mostly dead Nazis.....you don’t know half the shit you think you do.”

Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. Did you just seriously go there ? I don’t know what’s more insulting, being compared to Nazis or accused of mouthing Karl Rove or Willard talking points. If you knew me at all, which you don’t, you’d know I’m about the most anti-establishment/anti-beltway and anti-Willard poster on Free Republic. I’ve spent almost a decade exposing that fraud from Massachusetts (which you seem to conveniently ignore in order to rant on) and gone toe-to-toe with his similarly brainwashed trolls or paid agents on this board (ones who, btw, attempted to hijack and/or leverage this website you’re posting on).

Frankly, given your comments here, and your derangement at the slightest critique of Gingrich, I’m shocked anyone takes you seriously. You responded to precisely none of my specific points in my prior posts, and certainly nothing you’ve said directly to me could be described as particularly reasoned, but a litany of insults and “I’m better than you because I have a best selling book.” I know a few published authors get a swelled head, but yours makes the Graf Zeppelin look like a microbe.

All I'm going to say about Newt at the moment is this:

Your disputant did tend to be...fractious and opinionated.

Putting it mildly. I maintained for a long time that Newt’s one and only victory was the 1994 Contract For America. He had Bubba Clintoon on the ropes throughout 1995... right up until the budget “showdown.” All Newtie had to do was to hold firm, but instead he folded like a cheap suit and that permitted Bubba to get his proverbial mojo back and subject the country to 5 more years of his corruption and perversion. Even Dole could’ve taken out Bubba had Newtie stood his ground.

From that point on, right up until today, the GOP has been the gutless coward party. Anyone supporting Newtie, who ignored his failure at a pivotal moment in time and thought he was a great leader and Presidential timber just was out to lunch. Eddie got too emotionally invested in supporting Newtie. Yes, he denied it, but his hysterical attacks on others that pointed out his enormous shortcomings and unpopularity (not only with the nation at large, but with the base of the GOP and his flakiness and wanting to be loved and embraced by the establishment) showed that Mr. Published Author clearly lost all perspective where Newtie was concerned.
