If you listen to Donald Trump, you would believe that Ted Cruz's huge victories in Kansas and Maine in Super Saturday were a fluke.
While Trump is still leading in delegates, he should be a little more worried about the Cruz surge.
While Kansas was always going to be a toss-up between the two, Cruz's surprising victory in Maine should not be overlooked. While Trump was spinning Mar. 5 as another resounding victory, in reality, it was a not such a good day.
Not only did Cruz obtain most of the 155 delegates that were up for grabs on Saturday, he also kept Trump from maxing out his delegates in his two primary wins in Louisiana and Kentucky. Cruz's strategy, to steal closed Republican primary states away from the New York real estate mogul, worked like a charm, and now, Cruz heads into the Mar. 8 primaries in Hawaii, Idaho, Michigan, and Mississippi with a wave that could keep The Donald from reaching the 1237 delegates necessary to win the GOP's nomination ahead of their convention in Cleveland....

TED CRUZ 2016......GOD SPEED TED.
“If you listen to Donald Trump, you would believe that Ted Cruz’s huge victories in Kansas and Maine in Super Saturday were a fluke. “
Post a quote of Trump saying that.
Ted Cruz smells more and more like a warmed over spoiled Bush than anything else. But, during his CPAC act, Cruz sounded more like Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show.
Sweet.
Cruzin’ to the WH!
The biggest reason Trump is winning these primaries is that, for unknown reasons or motives, Democrats are crossing over and voting for him. When do members of an opposing party get to pick the candidate? Open primaries are a stupid idea.
Cruz is a Democrat’s dream opponent.
No crossover appeal, wears religion on his sleeve, etc.
Say hello to 4+ years of Hillary.
We disagree.
KY and LA were closed
That idea is SO-o-o 2012. This cycle, open primaries are the key to attracting moderates, independents, and crossovers. I'm pretty sure I saw the explanation on FR.
Cruz is sure a democrat’s dream opponent - the RATS will remove him form the ballots since he is NOT constitutionally eligible!
Is their a prize involved?
Its funny that you quote an inference and then demand a quote. I think you might want to read it again and then revisit the issue.
Open primaries are a better litmus test of how well a candidate might be expected to do in a general. I’m fine with them.
You do realize that the Democrats voting for Trump now will be voting for Hillary in Novenber. They want Trump to be nominated because polls show she can beat Trump handily.
Doesn't appear to be working anymore. Too bad.
Why do some Freepers suddenly think being openly Christian disqualifies a conservative candidate? I really hate the way people act like his faith is something to be sneered at and joked about.
