That's the problem. You're asking the leader of the Trump contingent on FR, Donald Trump, to view things as an ideological war between us and the left. He does not. Everything that Trump has spoken of has been incidental which happens to line up with certain conservative remedies for situational problems.
For some that is sufficient. It's like when people on FR cheer on something Bill Maher says about Muslims. That is what Trump supporters are asking those who are doubtful of Trump to hang our hat on.

You are assuming that Cruz would even run again for the Senate. Look at his work
history and you’ll find he’s not someone to hang on to one job/position for more than
four/five years then he’s on to something else So a six year term in the Senate and
he’s most likely moving anyway based upon his work history.
