Ted Cruz made women the focus of his campaigning in Wisconsin, unveiling a Women for Cruz coalition on a day in which his main rival in the GOP presidential race struggled to communicate clearly his position on whether women should be punished for obtaining an abortion should the procedure become outlawed.
"Trump hardly came up at the (Cruz) event, but the subtext was clear," wrote the Tribune's Patrick Svitek. "The billionaire's attacks on Heidi Cruz, which began last week in response to ad from an anti-Trump group that featured the billionaire's wife, have drawn attention to his history of sexist and misogynistic comments as well as his current struggles to gain traction among female voters."
Cruz is focusing efforts this week on Wisconsin, which votes next week. His push to win over women voters comes as the Texas senator is opening up a gap between him and Trump in support from women. Svitek reported that a new Marquette University School of Law poll shows Cruz with a 10-point lead over Trump among Republican primary voters. Among women, that lead stretches to 15 points....

The stream of Trump-bashing nonsense, in getting pretty intense.
Oddly, I don’t see a stream of Cruz-bashing nonsense, on this board.
Just saying.
The Texas Tribune is anti-Cruz.
You sure about that?
This article, is pretty much parroting the Cruz line, on the recent mix-up about the two candidates’ wives.
Doesn’t seem particularly anti-Cruz from here. Not this article at least.
I live in Texas. Yes, I’m sure about that.
The cruz bashing comes form all the brain dead trump supporters. Which is so fierce against Cruz who I thought was most everything the members of this forum wanted pre-trump.
And fwiw, I think the trump supporters are deluding themselves because you like his slogans and that he bashes ppl you don’t like. But you guys overlook his past liberal opinions, statements and actions. And overlook his huge negatives such as his terrible polling vs. sanders/hillary.
Well I (lived) in Texas, and will reserve judgement as long as all I am reading is pro-Cruz fluff pieces.
Just saying.
:D
Has anyone who supports Cruz sat down and looked at the hard numbers of the remaining states? I don’t know how you can live on hope, what is Ted’s scenario to win the nomination?
So Trump already has the requisite 1,237 delegates? Why didn’t someone ping me?
Your reply to me is for what reason? I clearly do not want trump. You might believe he is magic and will not do business as usual.
He is not magic.
Bills need to be passed before they can be signed into law. Neither Trump or Cruz are candidates most republicans in congress really want. It is my opinion that things will be shaken up if either one of them would win. However, Trump will not govern as conservatively as Cruz would. The fact that you think otherwise shows you believe what you want. You hear what you want to hear. You don’t look at Trump and Cruz’s past and conclude they are likely to govern as that would indicate.
Ted will not win the nomination.
Even if he did he could not win the general.
He’d lose Florida, Ohio and many others.
He would come in with numbers beneath what Romney did.
If they cheat Trump out of the nomination then Paul Ryan will be the designated loser in the general.
Cruz shoulda made a deal with Trump early on for a SCOTUS seat or the VP spot.
Unless Trump prevails I seen no future for the Republican party whatsoever.... maybe the establishment doesn’t care?
Coming soon, secession will be the new battleground.
The progressives/communists would resort to massive bloodshed to keep the people who work and produce from leaving the union... without them all they rule over is a vast sea of deranged freeloaders. THIS IS THE TRUTH and in your heart you know it!
No, but for Trump it’s still well within the realm of possibility, for Ted it’s not. Unless all of a sudden NY, NJ, MD etc will all go for Ted.
Because Hillary is such an exciting candidate that will motivate voters? Hillary will have her hands full just trying to bet the Bernie supporters not to stay home on election night. She is weak.
Don’t think it will work; Cruz is too much like the ex-husband....or the ex’s lawyer!
Cruz is working on it, one woman at a time. I wonder how many more tattoos he wlll have to get?
After the National Enquirer story, I think he already has...
No better way to “enlist the support of women” than to chastise trump for backing rule of law and pandering to the pro-abort crowd by calling it a “human mistake” rather than a punishable offense if done against the law....
