Obama: Ted Cruz Is ‘Just As Draconian’ On Immigration As Donald Trump
The Huffington Post's Huffpost Politics ^ | April 5, 2016 | Jennifer Bendery, White House & Congressional Correspondent

Building a wall and deporting 11 million people are not serious ideas.

President Barack Obama said Tuesday that Donald Trump isn’t the only GOP presidential candidate whose extreme foreign policy proposals are causing trouble for the U.S. abroad. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is doing some damage of his own.

“I am getting questions constantly from foreign leaders about some of the wackier suggestions that are being made,” Obama told reporters at the White House. “It’s not just Mr. Trump’s proposals. You’re also hearing concerns about Mr. Cruz’s proposals, which in some ways are just as draconian, when it comes to immigration, for example.”

Cruz has said that as president, he would deport all 11 million undocumented immigrants in the country. He’s also backed Trump’s proposal to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, and has said he would triple the number of U.S. Border Patrol agents.

Obama said Cruz’s ideas are just as impractical and politically motivated as Trump’s proposal to cut off billions of dollars in remittances sent home by Mexican immigrants living in the United States.

“The notion that we’re doing to try to track every Western Union bit of money that’s being sent to Mexico — good luck with that,” he said....

Obama admits in this he is not deporting people here illegally, so he is not enforcing the law of this country, which is he sworn to protect.

Paul Ryan - do you not think this is grounds for immediate impeachment proceedings?

If Cruz had Trump’s wealth he’d be running a sweat shop the world has never seen. Probably 50,000 illegals in his operation if he had Trump’s wealth.

The key word in your post is ‘trump proposes.’

Trump has done nothing and we have no evidence that he will do anything.

He loves dealing out grandiose hyperbole that delights the hearts of his supporters.

He also changes his mind and positions far too often for me to trust him.

I’d rather trust Cruz. He has a plan that will work.

Sorry, it does not involve waving a wand.

Don’t worry, Obama.

1. Cruz will never be President
2. If they make Cruz VP to shut him up, he’ll be effectively neutered

And even if Cruz became President, he’s completely owned by special interests so there will be no border and there will be amnesty.

No worries, Mr. Obama, all’s good.

Mr. Obama, have you already forgotten that the majority your voters have never seen the word ‘draconian’, heard it or know what it means without Googling first? It’s the truth. I would bet you two Hot Dogs with everything on them.

It takes a courageous fool to be so stupid as to discount his very first point with an “If” at the end.

Speaks volumes.

Silly boy.

Have you seen the latest Reuters poll? The one that trumpers have been touting for months? The one that Drudge always posts with the flashing light?

Hello. There is no flashing light today. Because Cruz is ahead in the latest Reuters poll.

If this poll is to be believed, then Trump has torched a 20-point lead that he has basically maintained since late-February.

According to the Reuters poll, Trump started to crater, rather than Cruz simple rising, on March 27. This decline reflects last week when Trump was finally called to heel on his scurrilous attack on Heidi Cruz, when his campaign manager was arrested for assault, and when he committed all manner of other douchebaggery.

It seems like the voters have finally had all the fun they can handle. It is also interesting that Kasich suffered a decline corresponding to Cruz taking the lead.

This could indicate that a gradual decision is being made by Republicans to fall in line behind Cruz, despite any philosophical differences they may have with him. After the thrashing Trump will take tonight in Wisconsin we’ll get a feel for what the poll measures.

Beck is a little nuts but he is sentimental.

Trumpers have made much of the teddy bear thing which shows they have very little in their armory.

It was not to welcome illegals. They did not get in.

It was to comfort motherless kids, sobbing, who had been sent here alone by uncaring parents.

I don’t think that’s all bad but that’s just me.

Motherless, crying children?

Are we on DU now?

The ‘children’ Obama brought in were not children at all.
That Cruz went with pro-amnesty Beck says a lit.

It sounds great, but the problem is that they made a photo-op out of it ... Why , To prove that the GOPe loves illegals too ?

Draconian means harsh, severe, strict, extreme, drastic, stringent, tough; cruel, oppressive, ruthless, relentless, punitive; authoritarian, despotic, tyrannical, repressive.

Sounds like Obummer is looking in a mirror.

Rubio, Kasich, and Jeb are not better than the dems on amnesty. They are complicit traitors.
