The assumption for months was that everything would fall into place. That there was no need to really dig in, that the outcome was obvious. And then, too late, it became clear that this optimism was unfounded. Or maybe not too late, but late enough in the process to mean that folks would have to scramble. And now everything is up in the air.
The paragraph above describes the Republican establishments attitude about Donald Trumps candidacy, obviously. But it also describes Trumps push for the nomination itself.
From the moment he stepped onto that escalator on Trump Tower until about a month ago, Trumps assumption was that he could power his way to the nomination through sheer force of will. That the scene when he strolled through the Iowa State Fair, pulling people into a tight cluster around him as he moved through the crowd, would work at an electoral level as well. And, despite the skepticism of the establishment (and myself), it nearly did. With remarkably little effort beyond bopping around the country in his private jet, Trump vaulted into the lead and stayed there.
But that strategy has hit its limit, thanks mostly to Ted Cruzs dogged campaign efforts....

If so that is fraud, pure and simple.
And typical GOPe. How in the world you defend this crap is beyond me. If a Dem did this you’d scream bloody murder-—rightly so.
PROVE IT!
Well, unlike nerds like you I don’t spend my entire day on the Internet, nor am I so impatient that somebody better answer me or else I’ll have a temper tantrum “meltdown”. You little millennials need to get over yourselves. You’re nobody’s hero so don’t expect we’ll answer your silly “challenges”.
Thank you.
You’re wrong on every point. (Loser)
You make a claim. You don’t support it. You’re either deceived or a liar.
Probably both.
Here’s something to watch : will you ever post the claim again without proof?

Send to me on freepmail by you, the stalker:
“Lol.
Well, unlike nerds like you I dont spend my entire day on the Internet,
At least 4 sessions on FR TODAY!
I bet Im older than you.
I know more than you.
I back up what I say.
You shoot from the hip - and miss.”
Seems your temper tantrums are very much like a millennial.
Said the 2015.
10 years is the same as 10 weeks?
“Stalker” Ha!
Ain’t nobody got time for that!
I just proved my suspicions.
And yes, you need to be held to account for what you write. Even on the inter web thingy.
EXACTLY!
Right on the first, but you're wrong on the delegate position. Part of the ground game is to get your delegates lined up and get your people to the local caucus and elect the chairperson who is on your side. You need to get people who understand parliamentary procedure/Robert's Rules, etc. That CAN be done minus GOPe and HAS been done and I can tell you that firsthand. It is negligence NOT to do so.
For example, Trump was endorsed by Phyliss Schlaffly. All he had to do was get the lists of previous delegates and supporters of similar causus or candidates from her and get the organization on the ground in ready. This was done in 1996 with Pat Buchanan. My state had an excellent ground game and showed up at caucuses outnumbering the GOPe by a margin of 6 to 1. Chairmen were elected to set the rules and procedures and the Dole people were furious to the point that at one caucus they tried to fight over the microphone, literally, because they didn't like the results. Police even had to be called. And let me tell you, I WAS THERE. So don't tell me a ground game doesn't work. It DID. And those delegates went all the way to the convention LOYAL.
So if Trump, or his campaign managers didn't get that organization done it's their own damn fault and someone should be fired! Like yesterday! Also, when you have people who have volunteered and you don't even call them back or follow up, THAT is pure neglect and stupidity. And I know THIS firsthand.
Our/Trump's only chance at the delegate level is if there are enough delegates who care more about the Country than they do the Party...
I agree, and just outlined how to do it!
No. That's when you make sure your delegate slate is loyal ahead of time and you avoid that problem. This calls for a good ground game and organizing. And that can be done if you put the time and effort into it - see my post to ISCOOL. Is Trump doing it? Who knows...
