Ted Cruz Could Be President—No, Seriously
Newsweek ^ | April 13, 2016 | Matthew Cooper

Posted on 04/13/2016 10:10:14 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

It’s a well known story: When Ted Cruz went to work for the George W. Bush presidential campaign in 2000, he had a lot going for him. He was in his 20s, a Texan, and smart, boasting a Harvard Law degree and a Supreme Court clerkship. It didn’t hurt to be young Hispanic man in a campaign looking for Latino votes. But Cruz was so self-aggrandizing and irksome that he managed to annoy folks at the headquarters in Austin so much that he never won a coveted slot at the White House. When Bush took office, Cruz was relegated to the hinterlands of the Federal Trade Commission.

Since then, Cruz’s unlikability has become legendary, especially in the Senate, where he really pissed off his colleagues with a government shutdown, and even called his party’s leader, Sen. Mitch McConnell, a liar. No wonder Ted Cruz was on CNN on Wednesday night as part of their family town hall series. With his telegenic wife and adorable daughters, Cruz did a lot to dispel the image of him as yucky.

Like Nixon in the 50s, Cruz in the 10s isn’t lovable but he has come very far very fast. Here he is, a first-term senator in second place for the Republican nomination, having outlasted the likes of Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush. Like Obama was when he ran and won the presidency, he’s only in the fourth year of his first term....

Haha whatever man. Go ahead and keep (intentionally?) missing the point. By continuing to insist you’re “right” you’re just proving yourself to be like one of the people I described, the only ones to whom this “story” would form this “cloud” of doubt:

“this “cloud” only matters to those Cruz would never win anyway: the gossiping clucking hens of this country who have no moral compass of their own and live for stories such as this to hide from their own inadequacies.”

“So Ted sCruz now has his very own “Bang of 8””

LOL....you want to see some REAL sparks fly? When Ted gets caught in California making unannounced speeches to La Raza And he is obtuse enough to DO it too. I predict he will, and will be caught doing so.

We have truth on our side. They have baseless allegations, some of which are admittedly hilarious : )

“this “cloud” only matters to those Cruz would never win anyway:

Incorrect. Quite incorrect!
What about those.........who are on the fence -and undecided?
Oh, that's right. Undecided folks don't have memories.

I feel this is why nothing is getting done in D.C. everybody has the ‘goods’ on everybody else...

Well said. You're right on mark here.

You are way off base, sister. You’re one of those people who know ‘just enough to be dangerous’.

Well, speak for yourself - there are some here with the intellectual capacity to recognize logic and reason and when supported by facts know when a contributor here is right on base.

It is notable that you do not go head to head with any of NBs observations and simply hurl an accusation.

Wait until Cruz gets schlonged in the upcoming NE primaries in the next week or so. You are going to see his poll numbers head south fast in CA. Once he’s mathematically out of it why waste a vote?

Any undecideds who have a “cloud” of doubt from the NE (and related stories) fall into the category I described:

“the gossiping clucking hens of this country who have no moral compass of their own and live for stories such as this to hide from their own inadequacies.”

This is my point. Cruz was never going to win such degenerate, a-moral people anyway, so who cares what such gossip lovers think, decided or undecided. If this election is decided by voters who voted (or didn’t vote) for a candidate because of an Enquirer article, we’ve got bigger problems than Ted Cruz.

I don’t deny such people exist, my only point is that they aren’t in any kind of majority. All Cruz has to do, if Hillary is stupid enough to bring this up at the debates, is ask “How’s that brain tumor Hillary?” This story has no impact on thinking, rational adults. Only for those who gossip is already “truth” does it matter (”it’s the seriousness of the charge”, not whether it’s actually true, that makes it worth considering to such people, which is the definition of amorality actually. Amorality is ignorance of the truth)

And by the way, using the fact of their existence, using the fact that people who love and apparently live off of gossip exist, as a REASON to continue to bring UP said gossip, well that’s just stupid.

“...there are some here with the intellectual capacity...”

And you’re sure not one of them.

But take heart, low-information voters do serve some purpose I’m told, so keep on trying and eventually...

Actually, aren’t the Trump followers more like the Obama throngs when you think of it?

Trump is promising people JOBS, not handouts!
Trump is railing against stupidity and waste, not racial privilege.
Trump vows to restore American greatness, not revenge for historic grievances.
No wonder people are cheering!

At Obama's nomination speech, American flags were trampled underfoot; Boy Scouts rescued them from trash cans.
At Trump rallies, people honor and wave our American flag!

When you are coming in third behind Kasich its time to ask yourself “why am I here?” And if you don’t ask yourself that question others will.

“When a man’s ways please the Lord, HE makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:7

So true. Ben Carson has endorsed Trump. Chris Christie has endorsed Trump. Rand Paul has endorsed Trump. And yesterday, even Megyn Kelly went to Trump Tower to meet with Trump.

If you are right, then Trump’s chances of being the nominee are 100 percent. I hope you are right.

Wait a sec: Could Trump be shut out on the first ballot at the convention due to … Rule 40?

2D, when this is over, you're going to need some prayer threads; and you could ask other freepers to give you therapy. We'll take our tithes or payments here.

We have truth on our side.

The Cruz side is entirely based on lies and deception. Cruz is a total fraud. And I'm surprised Cruz hasn't had to have doctors check him for venereal diseases such as syphillis and gonorrhea.

Cobra64 replied: "Excellent assessment and conclusion."

Albion Wilde firmly agrees with both posts.

If you keep making this claim about sex toys, sooner or later you’re going to have to post a link. My “safe search” setting won’t let me find one, and I’m not going to turn those settings off for Ted Cruz.
