We did the math. Cruz was smart to campaign in a Bronx district with almost no Republican voters.

When Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz came to the Bronx to campaign in the run-up to the New York primary, ridicule was not far away. After all, what is a Republican candidate doing in the staunchly Democratic, minority-majority northern part of New York City? What is he doing in New York State at all, when Donald Trump is nearly certain to carry the most votes and, according to market-based forecasts, has an 85 percent chance to win more than 50 percent of the vote?

Why would Ted Cruz campaign in the Bronx?

For someone like Cruz to campaign exactly where Republicans are least popular is actually a very reasonable strategy. That’s because 81 of 95 delegates are allocated equally between the 27 congressional districts. While congressional districts are drawn by population size, the number of registered Republicans per district varies widely in New York.

As a consequence, some congressional districts will have their three delegates decided by just a few hundred voters....

Trump 45
Cruz plus Rubio= 44

Wow.

That is quite decisive and it does not count Kasich— as if Kasich supporters are going for Trump.

This pretty much puts an end to your lies:

A FReeper discussion on the history of Trump's conservative pro-America positions

Cruz is done and there will be pressure for him to step down as he should. If he had any decency about him, he would.

Yes.

At times, Trump takes conservative positions— when it gives him an advantage at a given moment.

He does not consistently defend conservative values.

Conservative candidates don’t win elections because there aren’t nearly enough conservative voters. One day Cruzlims will figure that out. 75% of the country hates him. In the last poll, 73% of REPUBLICAN VOTERS rejected him. That dog won’t hunt.

You obviously didn’t read that, many of Trump’s conservative positions go back to the 80’s as our fellow Freeper pointed out in his research from Trump’s own books.

You continue to say Trump is the anti-conservative and that clearly proves you are wrong.

Face it, Ted is done now, the only reason for him to stay in is to help the crooked GOP establishment try to get their candidate in. Helping out the anti-freedom & anti-liberty establishment in NOT considered conservative.

Dude, your devotion to the Cruz is admirable, but jeez, he got clobbered across the entire South, and Florida wasRubio HOME STATE.

So if ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas. And Ted Cruz would be the GOP nominee.

But they're not, fortunately...

It’s over. All the pundits are saying it. Had Cruz came in 2nd then maybe, but 14 percent is not acceptable. Trump will be the nominee after tonight. They are saying 90 delegates and maybe a few more. That’s astonishing.

Trump is attracting a new kind of voter to the Republican side.

"So who becomes the nominee?"

Whoever wins the second ballot.

Trump thinks he can win the second ballot with intimidation and thuggery, like he does with real estate.

Good, keep playing spoiler

A negative campaign will get you no where

No one has a reason to vote for Ted Cruz, the exit polls proved that.

I want to vote for a candidate in November, not against one
