Donald Trump promised Friday night that if elected president, he will win 95 percent of the African-American vote in his reelection bid.
Renewing his effort to reach out to black voters at a rally Friday evening, Trump suggested that Democratic politicians that overwhelmingly govern in America’s inner cities have failed African-Americans. Trump told the Dimondale, Michigan, crowd that “we can never fix our problems by relying on the same politicians who created our problems in the first place. A new future requires brand-new leadership.”

. “You're living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs. Fifty-eight percent of your youth is unemployed. What the hell do you have to lose?” Speaking before another largely-white audience in a town whose population is 93 percent white, Trump said, “And at the end of four years, I guarantee you that I will get over 95 percent of the African-American vote. I promise you. Because I will produce.”
“No group in America has been more harmed by Hillary Clinton's policies than African-Americans. No group. No group,” he said. “If Hillary Clinton's goal was to inflict pain on the African-American community, she could not have done a better job. It's a disgrace. Tonight, I'm asking for the vote of every single African-American citizen in this country who wants to see a better future.”
The former reality TV star's 95 percent pledge was an ad-libbed moment in a speech that was scripted and delivered with the help of teleprompters, aides that Trump has shunned for much of his campaign in favor of a more off-the-cuff approach. Shoot for the stars - getting 50% would blow the Dems apart.
Trump has the lofty plans to super charge the economy and everyone is included.
But if Trump says “95 percent”, the media will cover it because they will laugh at in and explain it’s impossible.
Then Trump gets free press. If he says 10 percent, the media will ignore it, just like they ignored everything Romney said.

I was watching the Olympics and they paused for the news. They reported Trump went to a 100% white rally and told black people to vote for him because “What the hell do you have to lose?” I thought Trump went off script and blew it again. Thanks for the context.
I live in Texas so if the local news idiots here are doing it, imagine what they are saying in the battleground states.
Trump is making headway. He can win. He needs a strong ad campaign. I think he is being wise with his money by waiting. Hillary is pouring money down a rathole but when the time comes, Trump needs to spend and spend big.
Trump will never get the welfare vote. That means he will not get 95% of the white vote, not even close. And he won’t get even close on the non-white vote. The DemocRAT santa clause will get those votes.

He’s already crushing the black vote like no other repub presidential candidate ever has. And part of it will be for Trump to ask, like he just did. That communicates that he gives a damn about them.
And then people like us need not talk crap about that goal.
I have said it before and I will say it again, if there ever was a time for a GOP candidate to get more than the normal share of the black vote, this is it. If Trump is aggressive in courting the black vote, and by that I mean airing ads on BET and doing interviews on black radio as well as going into the inner city, he can win 20% of the black vote.
He does that and he runs away in a landslide.
You've got to love these extremists. They complain about Trump speaking in front of a 93% white audience, even as they recently finished gushing over the socialist Sanders. Bernie was raised in multicultural New York, he went to college in multicultural Chicago, but he settled down in the whitest city in the whitest state in the country. Vermont is 95% white and 1% black, but the extremists love him. These extremist kids say the stupidest things.
If that maniac in NJ can get 20 percent, why can’t Trump.

He doesn’t need 95% of any vote. He needs 50.1% of all the votes and taking as little as 13% of the black vote makes it very difficult for the Democrat nominee to win.
