During COVID I let my hair grow long.
But it's starting to flow nicely now. The beard is a must though for guys wanting long hair in their older years.

True. It’s not the length - your picture looks just fine. He just has it too finely combed or brushed for my taste, especially since it’s dead straight. A guy’s hair should not look too pretty IMHO.
I have wavy hair so my current look is closer to what you see below.
Yeah - I wore my hair very long in the 70’s. I usually had it in a pony tail or at least behind my ears. And I always had either a full beard or at least big sideburns and a mustache.
The problem with a guy wearing it hanging straight down (like Pressler usually wears it) is that he unconsciously tips his head back in a certain way or even tosses his head back to get his hair out of his face, or he flips his hair back with his hand, all of which are decidedly feminine gestures.
