I loved reading that story - had not seen it before. Since I'm the one who begged and pleaded for a flagpole (as opposed to the bracket on our house, which we used to have), it's been up to me to see that the flag is raised every morning and taken down every evening, and I'm very careful to go out and get it down if the weather turns dark. ONCE I forgot and left it out all night. When I saw it waving the next morning, I felt so guilty I'd forgotten it the night before. That kind of stuff bothers me - so this story got to me, too, Donaeus.

Right now my sister and I have an apartment so we don't have a yard to hang a flag in. I know that when I have a house I will be the one taking care of the flag but I don't mind. Although I know she loves this country, I do get frustrated with how dispassionate she seems to be.
