Your news regarding your father-in-law is the first good news I've heard!

Trying to stand by to hear about Julian but I'm better off just going back to bed again, except that I'm unable to sleep.

This is unbelivable. Absolutely sickening.

Sorry for the use of bandwith, but I was stunned when I saw this on the SignOnSanDiego.com website. It gives us a great perspective of where we are talking about.

feel free to ask Admin to remove if it is slowing things up too much.

Good nite for real, this time.

That is great. Yes, a lot of LE and other public safety live in Stevenson Ranch. My friend says there is at least one cop living on every block. Not bad.

And thanks to all for the update.

"Officials noted that the area was ripe for the fast spread of a fire, he said."

Professionally paid journalists wrote that sentence.

This scanner has HORRIBLE reception tonight. Either that or they're not "online" (or whatever the term would be) for me to hear them as well as earlier.

Is that 'toon (if you can call such a serious subject and touching depiction a cartoon) yours? Very well done!

I have been lifting up all the firefighters throughout this nightmare. True heroes all!

Hang on a minute. Who was out hiking in the Angeles Natl Forest today? And how did they flag down authorities so quickly?

Your son is a bonafide hero! How does that feel?

Scary! This is my little boy who was terrified of the log ride at Knott's Berry Farm. Now he rappels out of helicopters into Hell for a living. His mother is nearly catatonic for about 6 months a year and I find myself spending all my free time on the FS fire & aviation website when he's on duty. I think I managed to talk him out of being a smokejumper but he loves this very dangerous and heroic profession. Families of Fire Fighters are also in need of America's prayers, as I well know!
