Find out your ecological footprint (Beat my score!)
myfootprint.org ^ | Unknown | Unknown

Posted on 11/02/2003 8:39:47 AM PST by End Times Sentinel

A little 1 minute quiz I found while trolling around on a lefty site.

Take the quiz yourself  and see if you can beat my score of 20!

Admitedly, I'm vulnerable in the mobility category, but I'm going to see if I can't eat meat at every meal to up my food score.

CATEGORY ACRES
FOOD 5.4
MOBILITY 1.7
SHELTER 4.9
GOODS/SERVICES 7.7
TOTAL FOOTPRINT 20

IN COMPARISON, THE AVERAGE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN YOUR COUNTRY IS 24 ACRES PER PERSON.

WORLDWIDE, THERE EXIST 4.5 BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCTIVE ACRES PER PERSON.

IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 4.4 PLANETS.

I for one, am proud of how many people I put to work through my consumption. It's my little part in the war on poverty.

It was the living in an apartment that took my score down. And the fact that I only have a 10 minute drive to work.

I promise to do better in the future.

I got a 31. We'll need 7 planets to support me.

Maybe if all those selfless, enlightened, altruistic, collectivist environmentalists all over the world would just go on a permanent hunger strike in protest, there'd be more resources left for the rest of us.

Scratch an environmentalist, find a misanthrope.

SS. 22.8 Not bad? Wonder if they had a question about eating meat snacks, if that would have boosted my score?

This is one more reason we shouldn't be sharing our technology with the rest of the world, otherwise they will soon be living like us and there won't be enough resrouces for the entire world.

But business wants the profits now--later, we'll be paying the price with rationing and all kinds of regulation.
