"DEBKAfile ?s military sources report unusually heavy US bomber and fighter air traffic on the move from US West Coast to Middle East via Scotland"
I know, I know, it's DEBKA, but, does anyone think it has anything to do with the recent threats against New York, LA, and DC?
or.............perhaps a run up for Syria???

Perhaps we linked the downing of the chinook to agents working for Syria or Iran. If so, they will be getting a nice suprise soon.

Oh great, that's all we needed in Iraq. The French resistance. The French Resistance was okay. The problem with it was how it exponentially multiplied in strength after the war.

There are no US bomber bases on the West Coast. They are all in the central part of the country - Louisiana, Texas, Missouri, South Dakota, North Dakota.

I live in northern Virginia, and have been at a client's in Greenbelt under the Andrews AFB landing pattern for the past several days. I have noticed a significant amount of fighters (F-16s and F-15s) in the airin just the past 48 hours, and was mentioning this to a lunch partner about an hour ago as we watched two Eagles at low altitude scream towards Andrews, which is normally a MAC (transport plane) base.

Like the "good old days" when Ronnie hit Lybia.
A demonstration of resolve.

Yeah, I'm close to Robbins, but closer to Hartsfield International so I don't get much of a chance to see too much military air traffic.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

It could be an airlift of several divisions of 'gummi-troupen'
To: labowski
I have noticed that the helicopter that usually follows me has been absent the last few days. Something must be up.

Is it classic black or the new fashionable sage green?
To: donozark
Yup an increase in air traffic eminating from Central Mo, or a message over our work printer of a new TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) in the Knob Knoster area, is usually a good indicator. There is always a TFR and MOA over Knob Knoster but are extended when there is threat or a departure of a B-2 raid..

Could be a heavy response to the recent attack on the Chinook.

When I was quite young, we'd travel to Keesler AFB in Mississippi with my father and stay in a VOQ. My mother always complained about the noise from the planes contantly taking off and landing during the night. I always slept like a baby and felt so secure there.

Perhaps it's related to this little blurb in DEBKA:
DEBKAfiles Middle East sources report: Mubarak made brief trip to Damascus Monday to convey sharp hands-off warning from Washington to Assad to desist from interfering in Iraq war, sponsoring Palestinian terror and frequent threats to strike at Israeli settlements on Golan Heights. Syrian ruler told he is exposing Syria to extreme American and Israeli reprisals.

Andrews is home to the DC National Guard Fighter Squadron.
