The Vietnam War is still going on, economically, socially and politically, and we are winning it to the undying glory of all those Americans who lost their lives, bodies and family members there.
Whether or not we ultimately succeed of course, turns on not being intimitated as then by the same left trying to do the same thing to our resolve in Iraq, where if we lose, the whole world - including what would be left of America - will descend into chaos.

Myth # 9: Once we propped up Diem, we were doomed. When Ho
was busy fighting the Japanese, Diem was picking daisies in Paris. If
you're a peasant Vietnamese, which one are you going to listen to?

Is this your way of dismissing my opinion?
To: Hemingway's Ghost

I see. So in your opinion, Sheehan's Pulitzer Prize-winning A Bright Shining Lie was in fact itself a bright, shining lie?
To: Hemingway's Ghost
I'm not responsible to what other people think or writr, their stupidity, or the mistakes they make. There are Pullitzer prizes that have been retracted. There are people who have been awarded Pulitzers who should not be walking the streets. Please don't quote other people's garbage to me.

I have to refute your Myth # 5. I was stationed on guam in the Air Force. I was on break one day and I noticed a large contingent of media types who turned out to be a CBS News Crew headed to Vietnam. Morely Safer was among the group being whisked aboard a plane headed for Vietnam.
I returned to my duties and some time past until rotated out on a TDY assignment to return to my base in Plattsburgh New York. I turned on the TV to catch some news one night before returning to Guam where I was stationed. He was interviewing a motley anti-American gathering at a remote location and they were smoking dope .. Hash, I think or something out of a shotgun barrel. The conversation was all about how they despised being there and wanted to leave. One discussion centered around how when in the heat of a battle an officer was "accidentally" fragged by someone, it was sickening. CBS was doing its usual mantra of Traitorous diatribes playing up the Anti-American aspects that "all" the Managed News Media is known for and particularly back then. I am sorry to explode your Myth # 5 but I was there and saw him on his way to produce his shamful acts of Treason and Treachery. The Archived documentaries exist somewhere and they should be resurected to alert the unsuspecting as to their Treason all these many years later. This and many more instances work to prove truth is stranger than fiction. This is the Gospel truth; I was there and saw it set in motion and it continued for the duration of "MY" war. #5 needs some modification The Managed News Media would not recognize the truth if it reared up and bit them in the BUTT!

Thing is, I'm not. I suggested supporting Diem was a mistake; you suggested otherwise. I'd like to hear why you think putting Diem in a position of power was the right thing to do.
