Al Qaida commander 'anticipates' 100,000 Americans dead in attack

Special to World Tribune.com MIDDLE EAST MEDIA RESEARCH INSTITUTE Thursday, November 13, 2003 Al-Qal'a (The Fortress) an Islamist Internet forum, posted the first of a two-part interview with a person who introduced himself as Abu Salma Al-Hijazi, one of the Al Qaida commanders closest to Osama bin Laden.(1) The interview was conducted in Iraq, south of Faluja. The article notes that Al-Hijazi was surrounded by five masked men carrying missiles as well as personal weapons. The following are excerpts from the interview:

In regard to rumors about a large-scale attack against the U.S. during the month of Ramadan, Al-Hijazi said that "a huge and very courageous strike" will take place and that the number of infidels expected to be killed in this attack, according to primary estimates, exceeds 100,000. He added that he "anticipates, but will not swear, that the attack will happen during Ramadan."

He further stated that the attack will be carried out in a way that will "amaze the world and turn Al Qaida into [an organization that] horrifies the world until the law of Allah is implemented, actually implemented, and not just in words, on His land... You wait and see that the balance of power between Al Qaida and its rivals will change, all of a sudden, Allah willing."

Regarding Al Qaida detainees, Al-Hijazi said: "We follow their situation closely... the collaborating governments will pay the price for capturing these heroes who want to revive the glory of their nation and shake off the dust of humiliation and disgrace."

Al-Hijazi added that the "collaborating and treacherous" governments should know that Al Qaida has a long reach and its members enjoy popularity that will not end just because apostate governments detain hundreds of Al Qaida's members. "As soon as the governments detain one of our people, ten like him join us... this is no secret."

Al-Hijazi said that Al Qaida instructed its members not to confront the governments of Islamic countries and clarified that Americans are the main target of the organization, wherever they may be, in order to cause their disintegration and collapse, even if it takes a long time. "We are patient," he added, "our patience will only end with the collapse of America and its agents."

Al-Hijazi also said: "There is no doubt that the demise of America and its collapse will lead to the collapse of these fragile regimes that depend on it... We will not stop until we establish the Islamic Caliphate and until Allah's law is implemented in His land."

When asked about the recent bombing in Riyadh, Al-Hijazi referred to Saudi media reports — which claimed that in the attack Muslim women and children were killed — as "merely media deceit." He added: "This place was under surveillance for many months. Following a thorough investigation, it became perfectly clear to us that the people living there were at least 300 Americans and a large group of Lebanese Christians who had tortured Muslims there, in Lebanon, during the civil war. After consultation, we decided it was appropriate to attack this place and destroy it, including the people who lived there, because it housed Americans and a large majority of Christians holding Lebanese citizenship.

"Since the Saudi government is aware of the sensitivity of this place and that it is a declared target for Al Qaida, it surrounded it with very heavy security. However, we gave our people in Riyadh a green light to destroy it on top of those inside. Allah facilitated breaking into the place and bombing the part in which mostly Americans stayed. As a result, praise Allah, at least 40 Americans were killed, as well as 27 Christians from Lebanon, and a group of citizens who were Muslim; also, at least 70 Americans were injured, as well as more than 30 citizens of other countries, most of them Christians from Lebanon."

According to Al-Hijazi, a Saudi religious scholar who is wanted by Saudi authorities will claim responsibility in a televised communiqué for the bombing "and for other operations to come." He added that the wills of the attackers will be published, apparently, in the month of Shawwal — the month following Ramadan according to the Muslim calendar - when Al Qaida's main website, Al-Nida, is due to be reactivated.

I was concerned recently due to many things combining, but the most dangerous period has passed with no evidence of the threat being real.

"anticipates, but will not swear, that the attack will happen during Ramadan."

This is a nice way of covering your ass if nothing happens....and nothing will.

Prophetic intercessors are warning of a possible bomb attack of some kind in Manhattan around the middle of November.

Oh for Pete sake...you can't be serious. My religious drivel..

i VERY STRONGLY AGREE WITH YOU and can't think of a point in your post I disagree with . . .

though I would prefer to avoid shooting everyone indiscriminantly we're holding in Cuba. If there is clear evidence of their destructiveness and murdering--capital punishment is fitting enough, to me.

Certainly this deliberate divisive destructiveness at the hands of the traitorous dem HYPORATS needs to end last year or longer ago!

The media has been talking hijacked cargo planes and I just wondered if it was possible to drop a nuclear bomb and have it explode. Some of the previous posts indicate an arming and detonating process has to be initiated. Wondering if altitude needed was possible in a cargo plane.

If this happens, prepare for a draft. It will happen.

There will be a MASSIVE war, though still only against terrorists, not all Muslims, and that is the right thing to do anyway.

GOODNESS!

I PREFER your position THOUGH, IN-SPITE of your extensive 'proofs' I still do not believe is the Biblical meaning or intent in terms of the root, foundational Scripture.

Certainly LIVING THE LIFE IS A WAY OF LIFE.

And, I think it's instructive that Rabbi's have their own jobs/incomes/work. And I like Paul's example. I've certainly lived that way, myself.

Paul's point was clearly about lay-about's not doing any productive work but expecting The Body to feed them, nevertheless.

I also think that in the closing days of history as we know it, Believers will HAVE to have their own productive work to survive at all--IF THEY ARE NOT ON THE RUN or incarcerated.

Sadly, your 'proofs' remind me of a LONG LIST of precious brother's I've known who have taken this or that Scripture and built a whole constelation of 'true truth' on it which all other Christians were construed to be wrong on. And, which they felt was more or less key or essential to at least a 'proper' Christian walk. Some felt their pet issues were essential for salvation.

I'm wondering what Christ would see in person reading your extensive post on this thread and responding in person as we all do. Part of me thinks He would be kind of 'shocked' if that were possible for Him. And, kind of sadly wistful that you'd gone off to such an extreme degree.

I mostly agree with your preference in terms of my own preferences about the issue. But I don't consider it anywhere near an essential of the faith nor an essential of practicing Christianity. I can imagine folks in the center of God's will on both sides of the issue.

FWIW, that's my hO.

Re: economy rebounding when 9/11 hit. That's right, and the economic devastation has not been routinely tallied in these last two years.

9/11 cost not just America, but the global economy which hinges on the US. The direct costs of cleaning New York are the tip of the iceburg. The real cost was seen in the world drop in hundreds of industries. Consider: tourism suffered terribly along with travel, hotels, services and transportation. Retail sales dropped worldwide along with consumer confidence. How many company expansions were delayed until things "settled down"?

The direct cost of 9/11 within the first month: 100 billion dollars

The indirect cost to the world economy: closing in on 2 TRILLION dollars.

Now ask a Democrat: can we afford the War on Terror?

Are you Kidding?

I don't know that it's bandwidth . . . But there IS an EXCESS of SOMETHING in the post. Perhaps you could ask God to show you IF that's true and WHERE/ABOUTY WHAT it might be true.

I think the extreme--whatever it is--kind of ends up blowing your argument out of the water. Even folks like me who TEND TO MOSTLY agree with your side of the issue--kind of see all that and go 'WOW' SOMETHING ELSE IS GOING ON HERE that has relatively NOTHING to do with the purported issue. Then your issue gets lost and shoved aside in the mids of probably most readers. I doubt that's your goal.

TOTALLY ACCEPTED.

Am concerned about your stress level and your son. Where is your son? What role? Service branch and rank? Job category, skills? Personality? Specific prayer needs?

Am keenly willing to pray for him every time Holy Spirit reminds me of him.

Blessings. I consider you a dear and precious brother.

I don't think the MOST vulnerable dates have passed at all.

I still consider the Nov 23/24/26

being the most vulnerable times.

Prayer still much in order as well as alertness.

Part of me even wonders if the natural disaster type stuff--floods and winds in LA and NYC haven't been nudges from The Lord causing people to wake up and consider that perhaps life is not going to go on indefinitely as usual.

IF you live long enough, you will observe events even at close range in which prophetic and intercessor types have meant the difference between life and death at least to some you knew if not some you held dear . . . perhaps even to yourself.

Scoff now. Help yourself. It's clearly your bent on this matter.

I caution you about being locked into a terminal, permanent attitude of such scoffing.

Questions Quix??? This is strictly hypothetical...let's say the feds found a nuclear device or devices and disarmed them in time or anyother type of WMD. Does anyone think we would hear about it?

One would think. But perhaps not.

Especially in NYC and DC . . . given the liberal idiots in the press etc.

And, again, aren't the mosques mostly empty most of the time?

So, his younger assistant is also not there?

Interesting. Any other Muslims common to the area's shops etc. also not there?

How far is the nearest mosque. Any possibility of you checking it out?
