When I first read the full column by Rall I just shrugged. There is so much evil and anti-Americanism in the world that it's hard to get outraged about all of it. I'm glad Andrew Sullivan hasn't lost his sense of outrage.

The thing that is so smarmy about the Rall column is that it's written in the voice of an Iraqi terrorist. Rall and others can say, "Hey this isn't really me talking -- this is the perspective of an Iraqi extremist. I don't really believe all this -- I just want my readers to know the arguemtns that average people in Iraq are hearing."

So he can write the most hateful and treasonous things -- and invite Americans to agree with his writing -- without taking any responsibility for the words himself.

It's a sick and devious kind of cleverness.

Ted Rall is the epitome of the dunce who just doesn't understand islamofascism at all, and instead insists on projecting his own stale marxist justifications and motivations.

He proves the point that conservatives have been making almost from day one of this war: that there ARE some leftists so consumed with hatred of the West and its leading light, the United States, that they will crawl into bed with the most vile fascists and religious bigots imaginable.

The opportunism, hypocrisy and shamelessness are nauseating.

I think the full Rall column was posted here at the freerepublic. But now it seems to be gone.

Maybe the moderators thought we couldn't handle it, or maybe it just got moved somewhere where I can't find it now.

I was trying to say that it's devious to for a writer to write the worst kind of anti-American invective while taking cover behind an imaginary persona. Sorry if I wasn't clear about what I was trying to say. I'm also sorry that I don't quite understand what you're trying to say with your post -- can I ask you to elaborate please?

Won't happen stateside, but if only this P.O.S. could be lured into Iraq then he could be arrested for publishing or distributing columns like this, inciting violence and terrorism. (The CPA allows the Iraqi press complete freedom excepting this proviso.) How wonderfully satisfying it would be if Rall could be hauled off to an Iraqi jail, where he would be, uh, "looked after" by the very "collaborators" who's murder he's called for and approved!
