The items shown are for sale in Palestinian areas. The Palestinian leadership has, for decades, preached that all real, or imagined, wrongs done to Palestinians by the Israelis were done with the permission of the United States. The common belief among Palestinians is that Americans are the enemy becuause of this, and, as a result, the attacks on September 11, 2001, were seen as a victory for Palestinians. Oddly enough, Palestinian spokesmen deny this (in English). But Palestinian media (in Arabic) says otherwise. So do the toys sold to Palestinian children.

Meanwhile, we have some serious idolatry going on here, which is a big no-no according to strict interpreters of Islam. Hypocrite MF's.

Background of the photo is NOT Palestine, probably the USA. Peddle your phoney propaganda elsewhere.

Let us find the factory cranking out this garbage. And level it. IDF, can you help out with this?

Read the caption again. It said, "on sale" in the streets of Gaza and Ramallah -- not "picture taken in Gaza/Ramallah." At any rate, Gaza isn't part of "Palestine" - it's formerly Egyptian territory in the south.

Background of the photo is NOT Palestine, probably the USA. Peddle your phoney propaganda elsewhere. Actually, I think you're both wrong. The first time I saw these pictures, the toys were identified as being on sale in China.
But all that aside, what makes you so sure it's not in Palestinian territory? Have you forgotten the celebrations that went on in the Palestinian Authority as news of the 9/11 attacks broke? They really whooped it up...cheering, passing out candies, all that jazz.
And call me a skeptic, but I doubt you (or anyone else) can identify a continent, much less a country, based on a fuzzy background of a nondescript street lined with some nondescript shacks.

I agree. The red "writing" near the base of the WTC resembles Chinese characters (linear) as oppossed to Arabic (curved.) It is hard to make out the characters but I think I can make out a "zhong" which mean "middle" as in Middle Kingdom (i.e. China.)

Ping...well, sort of. I'm not quite sure how much credence to give this item. (Obviously, the toy exists; whether it is selling in Gaza and Ramallah is another matter.)

It is Chinese, and it looks to be Shimao Zhongxin: World Trade Center.
And the picture was definately taken in Beijing. In a hutong, by the looks of it.

That's disgusting. Can you imagine what it would be like to be an Israeli and have people like that for neighbors?

If you'd like to be on or off this middle east/political ping list, please FR mail me.
Clearly they're going to be sold somewhere. Not as nice as last years lighter though.
