You are delusional...LOL..you really need to leave. You are not going to win here by praising France and slamming Isreal. You are definitely on an American web site and we don't agree with you one bit.

A flight from Paris to LAX would over fly ALL of the US. If the terrorist took control of the flight on the east coast they could fly the plane anywhere in the US?

My guess is that the flight would cross through Canada entering the U.S. somewhere over Montanna or west of the Rockies before traveling down to L.A. Trans-continental flights follow the curvature of the globe, not the straight line lattitude path.

Fox just now reporting that the French Interior Ministry was contacted by our Embassy.

*We (the U.S.) have specific information that a flight emanating from Paris to LA has been targeted by al Qaeda*

Also a flight from Paris to LA scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled.

But disgusted by silly anti-French attitudes toward one of our most important allies, historically and today.

You've been all over this thread, insinuating that all those disgusted by the French are stupid, yet you misspell a simple little word like impotent.

>>I don’t know that much about the flight paths. Some help please.
A flight from Paris to LAX would over fly ALL of the US. If the terrorist took control of the flight on the east coast they could fly the plane anywhere in the US?
So Los Angeles itself wouldn’t necessarily be the target but the flight could divert quickly over its flight path??

What do you think<<

This is what I've been thinking!

Couldn't these flights be diverted anywhere in the U.S.?

I've lived in Japan, German, Ireland and Singapore. I've traveled extensively in other countrys. Granted, the last time I was in Europe was two weeks in 1999. At that time the French were just as self absorber and over-bearing as they had been in the 80's, the 70's and the 60's.

Somehow I don't think they've changed much since then.

France wasn't the only major player to oppose it

Opposing it is what many did. That's not what the French gov't did. THey actively engaged in a routine to prevent not only a war, but to prevent the fall of Saddam's regime. That is what is different than innocent opposition to a war. They preferred that Saddam stay in power, and they did everything in their power to keep him there.

That's more than simple "opposition" to Operation Iraqi Freedom. Why do you mislead?

Of course the French bashing is useless bandwidth, but don't try to convince smart people that the French gov't simply "opposed" the war.

Don't take my word for it, Lanceman!
Wolfowitz has lost favor with the big man himself (GWB).

You must remember.....one terror incident already occurred at LAX last July 4th, and the Millenium Plot was averted at Jan 1 2000.

There was a full scale layout of LAX found at a camp in Afghanistan! (not an actual airport, but terminal layouts, accurate measurements)

They closed off the cars because you know that Southwest Security Line is probably all the way down to Terminal 3 by now....thousands of people, all lined up!!!

We don't need any Frogs here. I say it's time for another French invasion.....only this time lets not go in as liberators.

It is pretty bad...reading Ernie Pyle's book "Brave Men" he trusted the Sicilians more than the Free French in Africa and NOBODY trusts Sicilians. In Sicily the people would grab a shovel and help the Engineers dig and wanted nothing in return. In France the people waited for engineers to rebuild their chicken coops....
