If we weren't supposed to eat animals, God wouldn't have made them outa meat.

You haven't lived until you've killed, skinned, dressed, butchered and barbecued a wild animal. Yum!

Just because you say it's so, doesn't mean that it's so. Doesn't the Bible say that man was given dominion over animals? Of course, there should be anti-cruelty measures, but many people make their living from animals.

"what I am trying to say is that hunting for sport serves what purpose?"

Ever hear of father son bonding? Or would you prefer that your children never really bond with their father? If you have never hunted with your dad, then you have no idea of the bond that can occur while hunting or fishing!

,,, you won't find one person here who would endorse cruelty to animals. Hunting is something that goes back to the dawn of history. Over the centuries, as weapons have been perfected, the quickness of a kill has been bettered and all who partake are happier about that. It's been a long time since I've been hunting, but on December 30 I bagged a goat on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island. The legs were Greek roasted and the balance went for crayfish bait - with superb results. I wouldn't kill anything for the sake of it. If it's dropped, it's dropped quickly and it's for food. If it was killing just to keep the population down, that's not my reason for hunting and I'd find something else to do. I doubt many on this site would differ from those ethics, generally.

Because of your profile, I feel obligated to direct you to Genesis 1:26
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, [ 1:26 Hebrew; Syriac [ all the wild animals ] ] and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
(Whole Chapter: Genesis 1 In context: Genesis 1:25-27)

Okay to some degree I will agree with you..
But all I am saying is that there are others that show hunting to be a cruelty act.
In fact they showed a program regarding animals at the Zoo and when there no longer used they are put in a room for hunters to kill, now that is BS.

I should have included Father/Daughter bonding. I know many father's and daughters have enjoyed this sport as well as sons! (That is the end of my PCness)

Indeed. I am cooking duck tonight, esp. for my children because they love it so. This morning we had venison sausage. Mmmm Mmmmm

The simple fact is that our creator put animals on this earth to satisfy our needs. They have no rights. Period.

That is not hunting, and it is intellectually dishonest to say that it is! Most states have laws against such activities and most of those laws are supported by Hunters!

So you beleive that all animals can be consumed? Jesus ate fish, berries nuts wine yogurt bread and proably some lamb at the Passover, he was not promoting every animal consumable.
