Mr.Black mentions that the State Attorney has continued to harass Rush due to volumns of email and letters they have received from "concerned" citizens who want something done about Rush!

There is no there there. They are being urged to continue to try and find something to pin on Rush through the urging of the DNC!

If you are so inclined, call, write, fax or email the office and let them know how you feel about the railroad job of Rush.

Well...this is all well and good, but the simple fact is Rush is a junkie, who lied through his teeth. The disconnect between what Rush said about drug abuse and his personal behavior is so vast as to make his hypocrisy undeniable. Using illegal narcotics is a crime. Structuring financial transactions to obtain illegal narcotics is a crime. Shopping for doctors to obtain illegal narcotics is also a crime. Florida has prosecuted 184 cases of illegal doctor shopping.

The irony is Rush was a very strong advocate of strict drug laws. The Florida Legislature following Rushes wise advice enacted the doctor shopping law to reduce the number of Oyxcontin overdose deaths in Florida ( seven a day) That Rush got caught up in his own advocacy is irrelevant. What Rush did was a crime. He should be prosecuted as the law directs.

Sarah....Mr Black said that he was told by people in the SA office that the reason they were going after Rush after initially saying they were not interested in him, was that they had received SO many emails and letters from people telling them to do something about Rush.

Which is a REAL good way to decide the law!

The investigate government corruption. Florida has changed the way they finnace the court system to a more statewide system.

This means if Palm Beach is mispending money to single out Rush in response to fake email or the national enquirer they are subject to criminal prosecution themselves.

The SA is usually responds to public opinion rather than the law or even the facts on a case.

The prosecutor's office would rather loose to a jury rather than drop a politically sensitive case.

DUI or DWI cases are an excellent example. The Palm Beach attorney does not drop such cases. They will plea a case or try a case. NEVER drop a case. (never mind the conviction rate of dui actual trials is probably not as high as you would think)

HOWEVER, email campains have as much validity as webpolls and the SA knows it.

They set the pressure up. They gave the all clear for the clines to publish the enquirer story which cleared the way for the emails.

BTW all such documents ARE PUBLIC RECORD.

Yeah...I think we should DEMAND to see these stacks of email and requests to go after Rush.

Personally, I would like to know, exactly, how many emails it takes these days to get a good old fashion witch hunt started at taxpayer expense!

He has been accused of four crimes..

1. Obtaining or attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud. ( The doctor shopping allegation)

2. Obtaining or attempting to obtain a controlled substance ( purchasing Oxycontin and other c2 controlled substances..)

3. Conspiracy to obtain or attempt to obtain a controlled substance ( The relationship with his " Maid")

4. Structuring financial transactions to conceal a felony.



Those are the allegations being investigated. I suspect that the prosecutors will only go with one or two charges of the four in the interest of keeping Rush within parameters of the PTI or First offenders program. Meaning no jail time in lieu of a fine and community service.

He has not been charged with any of that....they have been fishing and using those bogus "crimes" to smear him in the press. The SA office has been leaking this crap to the press for the expressed purpose of hurting Rush personally and business-wise.

When he is actually charged we will talk, until then this is all speculation and witch hunting.
