"If you want the un-documented Aliens to leave on their on accord; Starve em out! Identify every American Company that knowinglly hires un-documented Aliens and put them in prison and throw away the key!"

Uh huh. As if the daily images of rounding up 1 million American business owners in addition to the images of 8 million starving illegal aliens would be any more popular than showing 6 million starving Jews in NAZI concentration camps.

Oh yeah, that's a real political winner you've got yourself there.

Oh dear Bushbot/Koolaid drinker

Nicely weaselworded.

The Act specifically provides for a non-judicially-ordered exercise of home invasion and search by letter, and also extends this privilege to search of bank, pawnshop, S&L, hotel, and credit/debit card activity.

No judge, just a letter requesting the searches pursuant to a "national security" item.

Yes, there is no Sneak and Peek. Yes, there is no Judicial Review.

Go suck carrots for your eyes.

Businesses, good businesses, will find ways to survive and thrive the enforcement of the immigration laws. Unscrupulous businesses, dishonest and short-cutting businesses, will not and fully deserve to fail.

Let's enforce the laws and start weeding out the crooks, the incompetent, and the weak.

"Should have been done by the states not the Feds using the interstate commerce clause."

Shoulda, woulda, coulda ain't what's being discussed here. Either you FAVOR banning various forms of abortion, or else you don't. Methods of enacting such bans are secondary to where you stand on said issue itself.

You can make a reply without the flame-baiting, as Kevin Curry did quite effectively.

Her response indicated there would be NO end to renewals.

I don't think multiple or even unlimited renewals contradicts the phrase "have an end". That phrase only contrasts the guest worker visas with legal permanent residence or citizenship. Those statuses literally do not have an end date. Regardless of how many times you renew the visa, it still has an end date specified.

JMO, of course. We're all trying to read tea leaves here.

Sounds like a factual statement. Do you have docmentaion that proves the President's motives?

Don't bother to respond. We already know your answer.

I don't see ALL the illegal aliens signing up for this program because there are perks for them to remain off the grid.

It's not even the perks. The majority of illegal aliens have criminal backgrounds that will preclude them from participating in any immigration program.

Your and Bush's "benign plantation" image which posits the creation of a docmented underclass of swarthy folk imported to clean the nation's toilets is as racist an image that can be imagined. Why do you wallow in it?

If I want to be called a "child" by a Bushbot Koolaid drinker, I'll find one who's around 80. I've paid taxes in this country for well over 40 years.

prosecuting and deporting and/or jailing millions of people whose crime is that they wanted to feed their families

Feeding their families is not a crime. Breaking the law in order to feed their families is a crime.

I don't need documentation.

I work in this business and his actions and statements are all the documentation I need. He has yet to do anything to curtail illegal immigration and this program will not curtail illegal immigration in any way, it promotes it.

"You've missed the point and the illustration of the Asymmetrical approach. When you deport the thousands that you can find easily, many of the remaining millions will self-deport."

Indeed. I've missed it. I don't see why *other* illegals will go home on their own based simply on their peers being forceably deported.

To me that looks like scoring an own goal.

Besides, your initial point in your opening editorial for this thread was to convince illegals to go home voluntarily, something that I have a difficult time reconciling with forced deportations.

On the other hand, that's what Bush's plan accomplishes.

The problem is, any Democrat would be worse. Setting aside the rest of their foolishness for the moment, we need to understand that every one of the Democrat Presidential candidates supports worse Amnesties for Illegal Aliens than that proposed by President Bush. L

So, for now, my vote remains Bush's to lose, and I'm getting a big clothes-pin ready for November. Could he lose it? Sure, but I'd have to think long and hard on it. Something rotten would have to happen, though, because I'd vote for him today.

Saber, glad to still have you on board. Like you said, the anti-immigrants really have no where else to go.

Bullsh*t. I can't stand abortion and I think Roe v. Wade should be over turned but I am not going to spend my life fighting the Dems enacting unconstitutional stuff just to turn around and have the Republicans do the same thing. What you have suggested here is that the ends justify the means and that is Clinton's style, not mine.

...the Presidents plan will neither stop illegal immigration or terrorism and it will not impact either in any negative way.

Since this is your line of work let me ask you: do you think that it is impossible to provide legal status to most of the illegals currently here and still have a workable plan? Is it possible to combine President Bush's principles with some combination of future incentives or enforcement, or does legalizing so many doom any proposal like this to failure?

My intention is not to get elected Citizen; my effort is to simply identify the "PROBLEM"! The "PROBLEM is the Jobs they come for that their home of origin refuses to provide for them. We cannot subsidize the Third World through American Taxpayers to support non Contributors who are more than willing to steal your Birthright by not abiding by our established Laws. I think you understand this if you are willing to be true to yourself and admit it!

Legalizing without prior vetting provides an incentive for more illegals to come before the cut off
