Why? Nicolson and Ford dont deal with 40 year old women in their real lives, so why should they do so on film? How many things look good at 40 except for currency, precious metals minerals and liquor?

Reality? What reality? Hollywood deals in everything BUT reality. That's why practically everyone you see acting in any movie, male or female, has had most parts of their anatomy altered in some fashion. And the only reason you do see the over-the-hill actors paired with the twenty-something starlets is people like Harvey Weinstein are only projecting their fantasies; as for the actresses who are complaining, they've got plenty of room over at Lifetime Television and Oxygen.

The last "kiss" scene in "as good as it gets" ...I have to admit had me even thinking "Come on! No way... that's just wrong!" I even told my husband that scene must have been a challange for Helen Hunt, you know, to make a kiss to what must have seemed like her grandfather seem well... romantic/sexy.

I agree with that too, but these ladies have the experience in the industry and the money to make things happen. They should stop the whining and make a niche for themselves.

Shoot, I'm nauseated when I see Jack Nicholson in a sexy role at all. I just watched Something's Gotta Give and when Diane Keaton leaves Keanu Reeves for HIM, I'm thinking, "What gave was obviously her eyesight." I mean, I knew it was going to happen, but still. It's Keanu. Just LOOK at him! Cripes!

I guess I'm just as bad as the Hollywood bigwigs who only want them young and beautiful. Of course, in Hollywood-land, Reeves at 39 is just entering his prime, and Sharon Stone by the same age is leaving it. But... well... that's how it is.

Come on! this situation reflects reality. When I worked summers cleaning swimming pools I saw plenty of twenty something babes at the home of sixty something business executives, doctors, lawyers. You don't actually think those hot young babes driving new Boxters, and Vettes actually earned them via conventional methods?

In real life, aging celebrity entertainers DO get all the young chicks they want. Paul McCartney(60) and wife Heather Mills (35). Woody Allen and his stepdaughter-wife. Anthony Quinn fathering a child by his 30-something mistress in his 80's. The list goes on

And let's not forget Clinton and Monica
