January 21, 2004 -- MANCHESTER, N.H. - Howard Dean's bizarre rant in the face of his Iowa defeat was the talk of the nation yesterday - with political pros saying it could doom his presidential bid and voters asking if he's fit for the White House. "I used to be on the Dean bandwagon but now I feel as if he's imploding," said medical student Eliza Shulman, 29.

Jay Leno's joke tonight was that Iowa cows are afraid of getting Mad Dean Disease.

Rant "looks like" Howards end? It IS the end. He blew his entire campaign with this stunt. Welcome to oblivion Howie.

How about letting Dean co-anchor news with Baghdad Bob? The two of them together would be a riot.

Yea, I caught part of his mangled Star Spangled Banner on TV as I was leaving for work. Wasn't part of the Democrat "So you want to be President" information packet little things you might like to learn? Number three was the words to the Star Spangled Banner.
(Number one was don't tell the useful idiots we are Marxist-Socialists. Number two was pretend to be religious until elected.)

Kat -
There's one thing to remember about Dean. He got to be Governor of Vermont because he was willing to wait in the shadows as Lt. Gov. Then the Governor died.
Dean controls the hard core left wing of the Dumb-o-crap Party. Thes are the eco-summit protesters, the Earth 1sters, the champagne socialists. Some people are already talking about the Dumb-o-crap "dream team" of Kerry (Massachusetts) and Edwards (North Carolina), but they don't dare alienate the greeny-lefties. The eco-nazis have shown the abilty spite the Party and support third-party candidates (like Nader). I don't think Dean is done-for, not by a long shot; but if he repeats his Hitler-esque rants, he's in deep doo-doo.

I don't think Dean is done-for,... I don't either. He's the champion of the party of hate (AKA The Democrats).
To: kattracks
Dean's outburst achieved instant-classic status Yeah, it was weird and it probably finished him.
But was it any weirder than when Gore left his podium and went chest to chest with Bush during the debate, LOL. The press gave Gore a pass on that one.
IMHO, somebody needed to be psycho-analyzing Gore after those debates, he was "over the top."

The under-reported story in all of this is just how politically damaging (not to mention plain ole' embarrassing) it is for the literally hundreds of "big stars" in the Democratic Party who opportunistically gave Dean their endorsement when it looked like the Dean train couldn't be stopped.
Gore, Harkin, Bradley, many if not most Democratic governors, a sizeable percentage of the Hollywood elite, many others I'd list if my brain wasn't going dead right now. All of that crowd must be slamming their heads against the wall saying, "How could I be so stupid."
Gore, in particular, is SO finished. He might as well go back to the Grizzly Gore look he had for a while and retire to some wind farm in North Dakota or wherever his eco-utopian vision takes him.

Well, last night Alan Simpson said it best; referring to Dean, he said "he looked like a prairie dog on speed".
The only reason I tuned to LKL was to catch Simpson and as usual he came through in the best whit department.

"I used to be on the Dean bandwagon but now I feel as if he's imploding," said medical student Eliza Shulman, 29. "I was really scared when I saw him on TV. I can't believe I used to be for that guy. It's embarrassing." Well, Eliza, are you smart enough to realize that you are an idiot and should never trust your political judgement enough to vote ever again?

Good point. When Dean pooped into the fan, all those super-lefties got shit-faced.

'roid rage? Or just a little "energy booster" to get him through the campaign?
He's either self-medicating, or certifiably nuts.
