Rush's Rant
Posted on 01/29/2004 12:48:15 PM PST by daler
Thought Rush was on a roll near the end of his program today, doing an excellent job of framing the exasperation conservatives have with the Republicans in Washington.
Rush pointed out (and I paraphrase here) how the Republicans are ALWAYS appeasing the Democrats, from the Clinton impeachment to the Kennedy-written Education Bill, while the Dems NEVER, EVER accommodate Republicans.
He used as a prime example the current investigation into the hacking of computers owned by Democrat Senate Intelligence Committee members.
Rather than investigating the scandalous CONTENT of the memos generated on those computers (the strategy for defeating Bush judicial appointees for purely political purposes and for tarnishing Bush on the war), the Republicans are joining the Dems in launching a full-blown investigation into finding out which REPUBLICANS did the hacking.
As Rush said, we're all sick of it.
I'm just wondering when the Republican Party is going to discover just how sick of it we are.

While I agree with you and with Rush on this, it is informative to see things from the DEM/LIB side. Read THEIR web pages. They think all they do is compromise!

The Wall Street Journal highlighted the same issue in their editorial today. I think the problem is really the Senate itself. Every Senator seems to be inhaling his own incense all the time, regardless of party. The upper chamber should simply be abolished. I don't know what we need these pompous clowns for.

Rush nailed it today. I'm starting to feel like a Dem might -- am I voting for someone, or just against someone else? Is that a good enough reason anymore?

Fourth hour? I remember hearing that he did one hour of local broadcasting in Sacramento before the affiliates picked up the remainder of the show, but that must've been in the late 80's.

I'm just wondering when the Republican Party is going to discover just how sick of it we are. Right after Bush gets re-elected, along with a few new (R) reps and senators, I am sure they will be doing some soul searching on the matter.

I don't think they will. Every time a real conservative complains about it, they are branded as a wacko libertarian and called every name in the book.
It's sick what is going on, from the Medicare crap, the NEA crap, the Illegal Alien Amnesty crap, the taxes, the spending, the bigger and bloated government (Bush has now outspent Clinton) and still.....
Republicans sit quietly on their hands with a small polite smile on their face.
This is EXACTLY like the libs defending Clinton on all his scandals. Where is the moral fiber, the backbone, the desire for America's founding principals?
There are many country's just like the one that Bush and everyone else is trying to turn this one into... kick them out into them and lets have the unique America that we inherited, instead of quietly letting the socialists have it.

Rush used to do a fourth hour over the internet. This would have been a great opportunity to continute his train of thought.

I'm beginning to think the Republicans are masochistic.
They have become a party of no ideals, and are, by any stretch of the imagination, not conservative.
Folks, we have trouble right here in River City!
