Bush and Powell were dishonest and mislead the American people about WMD. It is now coming out from sources that Powell was uncertain about WMD as well as Bush. They made the decision to go to war based on "assumptions" that Hussein had WMD. That is the same crap they pulled off on us in 1991.

Now it is coming out that his military record is highly questionable. He either served or he didn't and he was either paid or he was not. He was either AWOL or he wasn't. And if he was AWOL, he should not have been receiving payment. Friends of mine who serve in the national guard don't believe his AWOL story. They tell me that when one is AWOL they are not to be paid. He can't have it both ways.

I will try to condense what I have read about john Kerry, Both Pro & Con.

Pro: He did serve as an Officer and commanded two seperate "Swift Boats" and he did so honorably.

John Kerry was close to the Kennedy Family, he dated John F. Kennedy's distant Cousin when he was young. There is picture of him on a Sail Boat with JFK and Jackie O in or around 1962. John Kerry is related to the Forbes Family and lived a very sheltered life. He grew up around the most powerful liberals in the Nation and he wanted to be the next JFK and molded his life with that goal in mind.

John Kerry spoke out against his country even before he joined the Navy and left for Vietnam as an officer. Once he was there, he was given "Swift Boat" to command and saw 4 months of action on the Mekong Delta. In those 4 months, he managed to get a "Silver Star" a "Bronze Star" and 3 "Purple Hearts". None of his injuries were life threatening, and 2 out of three injuries he received, required no Surgery or outpatient care.

There are a couple of different accounts of how he earned the "Silver Star". As far as his "Bronze Star" I was unable to find out what he did to deserve that Honor.

after he returned from the Vietnam War, John Kerry joined up with every anti-American outfit he could latch on too. He led a group called "Vietnam Vets Against the War" and from everything I can gather from that group these days, they are a Pro Communist, Below is a link to John F. Kerry's Testimony back in 1971

The thing that particularly caught my eye in your earlier comment was the phrase "their golden boy". I hadn't seen particular background to that point that his commanding officer(s) in Viet Nam were favoring him (though I'd suspect as much).

Would that I could go back and relive those times, now that I have a semblance of political awareness. I was on a most leftist college campus with well known protestors, and in the military at the height of the war, and hardly knew the difference.

They were the best of times (Reagan) and the worst of times (various leftists). I had no clue.

It took Bill Clinton to awaken me to the dangers we face.
