You have a short memory.
McClintock took money from the Indian Tribes, Bustamante's biggest contributors. They were keeping McC in the race to split the vote, and have Bustamante get elected. McC is on record saying that he wouldn't mind to have the Democrats succeed in electing Bustamante.
Just because the plot didn't succeed, it doesn't mean they didn't try.

I don't know for whom I will vote. I am afraid none of them are up to beating Boxer. I held out as Kaloogian as a definite possibility, but his behavior totally alienated me.
I don't care for Jones, but he may be our best shot, which is probably way to pathetic, to beat Boxer.
I think, if Kaloogian really wanted to win the nomination, he would have come up fire and brimstone against Boxer, letting the electorate know that he is determined and capable of defeating her. But instead, he holds useless rallies, attacking Bush. Kaloogian had a shot, he blew it big time.

Oberwise is the real deal If he could win in the primary and somehow overcome Daley's voter fraud machine in Chicago, would certainly rock the state of Illinois. It would be great to get one senator to start working with Tancredo on the issue of illegal immigration.
If Congress could bury the Presidents proposal quickly it would be great.

And at the Kaloogian events I've been to, HE HAS DONE THAT. You would know that had you attended. He has heavily criticized Boxer, particularly on national security and supports Bush on the war on terror. He just has a different take on amnesty that most Republicans share.
But instead, he holds useless rallies, attacking Bush.
A sizeable rally like this to garner media attention is hardly useless, and is in fact essential to a campaign. And the immigration issue is important to Republicans and remember this is still a primary race, a lesson Richard "Howard Dean" Riordan learned the hard way.
It's a win-win.
But if Jones win, then I guess we'll just have to rally for Jones. Won't be easy we can all agree on.
Will you undermine Jones though if he has a difference of opinion with President Bush that hits the pages of the L.A. Times, at the risk of re-electing Boxer?

"A sizeable rally like this to garner media attention is hardly useless,"
==
When the rally gives a chance to the LA Times to say "GOP loyalists booed President Bush" the media attention only helps the Democrats.

Yes, we DID make the same point! And CalCowGirl put it into perfect perspective. Couldn't be made any clearer than the combination of those 3 posts. :) It's called the 1-2-3 punch! :)

Howard Kaloogian represents the grass-roots sentiment the official party hierarchy dismisses at its peril. He's a first class stand up guy who should be our Senate candidate to take on the uber-liberal Babs Boxer in November. We need a principled conservative in the U.S Senate. The rest of the field are RINOs. Let me be blunt, Bill Jones and the rest are nice folks but Boxer will eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner cause on the issues of concern to Californians, their positions aren't too different from hers. And if we nominate another Matt Fong-like RINO, we will have Boxer around forever.

You probably have gotten the idea by now, but the tactics you are using to shut people up is actually having a reverse effect.
I think people have had enough with the 'walking on eggshells' thing.

Then say hello to President Kerry. I am sure the "so-called conservatives" will be very proud of themselves to have been instrumental in electing Kerry.
They learned nothing from electing Clinton.

Yes, see, this is the type of GOP I want. Someone who gets it done, someone who is full-force. i bet Rummy would close the borders.
Now stop posting pictures, and stop trying to divert me.
Damn, communion just wore off....
