Senate debate on the gun manufactures liability bill will begin at 9:30 this morning on C-Span2. Expect Feinstein to attach her Assault Weapons Ban renewal rider on it. Also McCain may attach a rider closing the so called "gun show loophole". This is it folks.

Stuff like all guns will have to be kept locked inside your house. That all guns sold will need to have a lock installed, I believe internally.

I just sent emails to my 2 senators, both Republicans(MO), that I am more than a little upset with the Republican performance so far,,,,in fact that I was furious. I pointed out that they are successfully alienating guns owners and they are effectively rendering themselves irrelevant as far as we are concerned and are not worth voting for as a group.

I pointed out that it may be time to see if the Constitution is just so much toilet paper and let the chips fall where they may.

Just called my Senator (Peter Fitzgerald) and told him (well, a staff member, anyway) not to vote for the renewal of the AWB. She told me she would let him know (we'll see). My other senator is Dickbrain Durbin, one of the co-sponsors of the ban. I'll not waste my money or my time calling his office.

I didn't hear how Cornyn voted, but Kay Bailey voted for the Boxer Amendment.

The B*TCH. Embarrassment to all Texans.

I've been actively working with the Bush/Cheney '04 campaign... manning phone banks and the like. I'm shaking my head in bewilderment now. I feel abandoned. Guess I'll start working for the LP instead. What a sad day for America.

I won't go LP. I won't go rat. If this passes I can't be a republican anymore. Not sure what I'll do now.

The Boxer Amendment... requiring locks on all guns... even in your own home. Might as well call it the Surrender To The Criminals Instead Of Defending Yourself Act.

He is saying that a federal law allowing off duty and retired police officers to carry guns would override state and local laws...
