Ahh but do not forget, under Sharia, women property and father can marry 12 year old daughter to 80 year old rich guy...after all most "perfect" human alive Muhammed, marry 7 year old as last wife, when he in his mid 50's.

There are specific rules with respect to restraining orders.

If she goes to his house to see him he is most likely told not to let her in and to notify the authorities that she has come to his residence and is outside.

It didn't pan out that way, he would arrange to see her in different places and violated the order numerous times.

If prosecuted as adult, why not sent to adult facility?

My apologies. After doing Google research, Juliet was 13 years old. No word on Romeo.

For this...

On the advice from a friend on the Pepperell police force, Lambert and his wife, Paula, went to Ayer District Court on Aug. 8, 2002, on behalf of their daughter and obtained a restraining order against Bucchio. The order was extended to a year, and the parents returned to court numerous times because Bucchio violated the order repeatedly.

At the same time, Lambert sent poems and notes to Bucchio with passages such as, ``All I could think was that I don't have nothing if I don't have Kevin! You mean everything to me hunnie (sic) and we will get through this. We have to! Romeo + Juliet!''

In July 2003, Judge Paul McGill sentenced Bucchio to 75 days in the Billerica House of Correction for failure to comply with the order. Within hours of landing in jail, Bucchio violated the order again, arranging to leave a phone message for the girl. He told her he did not blame her for his incarceration and wished her a happy 15th birthday.

As a result, McGill imposed a maximum two-year sentence that had been suspended for an earlier violation and tacked on another six months for the jailhouse transgression.

The parents of the girl acted in her best interests, even if she didn't see it. Bucchio and his lackluster mother have only themselves to blame for the consequences of his scofflaw stupidity. He's made a monumental screw-up of his life, but hopefully, he can recover.

In any event, the girls in his town are safer now, because of the example of this girl's parents and Judge McGill. Too bad it came to this.

I can't rationalize away punishment like you can. The girl would be scarred for life - emotionally. As for the male that did it - he should have considered the consequences BEFORE he did it. I have NO sympathy for people like that. NONE!

For what? He not rape her, she want to see him, what scarring? What are you speaking of? Have you even the article read? Some how I do not think so...parents ban girl from contact, she make phone calls and email. They ban her from phone and email she sneak out...so who put scar where?

The girl is a child. So in other words children are to be encouraged to do whatever they want to do? Regardless of how stupid it is? Adults are NOT supposed to protect their children?

You are soo typical of the generation x. Callous and cold.

Oh by all means allow adults to indulge in sex with minors because they are "in love".

I read the article three time and still haven't found the part where anybondy had sex with anyone.

Perhaps you could point it out to me.

The parents can't control their daughter; that doesn't make him a criminal in my book.

Two years from now, while this boyfriend is still rotting in some jail cell, this daughter will be 17 years old. How many jail cells does this father plan to use to protect his daughter's innocence.

Callous? Cold? Sorry but 17 year old is still child and usually impulsive stupid one...but I am sure of age 17 you had all wisdom of ancient tiebetan monks and glowed with enlightenment. Yes, sending him to jail to be raped and abused and taught proper criminal behavior is correct answer...oh but I forget, US have more peoples in jail then even China...must feed the industry.

Anyone heard of shaparon date? Personally I would put simple fact to the young man...two: one, you can date my daughter, you so much as touch her before she 18 (before 16 no private date period) and your life come to screaching end as you take up career of worm food. Two you get her pregnant in some future alternate universe....you had better be ready for marriage or again, new career as worm food.

My husband and I were 18 and 19 when we met.. 19 and 20 when we married. And 32 and 33 now, and will be married 14 years.

Age isn't totally relevant.
