To the extent that there are Christians who say "the Jews killed Jesus" they should be loudly and massively denounced by the Christian world.

Look, what frustrates us most about the "mainstream Muslims"? Simple: they don't say a word of criticism when their brethern murder innocents. Not a single word.

Christians have a chance now to show Islam an example of how mainstream believers in a faith should behave. I'm not saying this movie is the problem. I haven't seen the movie. But there are definitely Christians among us who believe "the Jews killed Jesus". That belief should be loudly and massively denounced, by Christians everywhere.

If it's not denounced, then Christians everywhere have no right to expect mainstream Muslims to denounce the idiot-extremists in their own ranks.

And now is the time to do it, when this controversy is in the air.

The movie isn't the issue here... it's just a movie. It's the belief that should be loudly denounced. And so far I don't hear it being loudly denounced. I don't hear it being denounced at all.

Er, I would speak out against any Freepers posting here who are posting anti-Semitic statements. I just haven't seen any. And I think I've read every Passion thread on this board that's been posted in the last week. And let me tell you, that's been a hell of a lot of threads.

Christians are among the strongest supporters the Jews have. The Left, who are the true anti-semites and who have been posing as protectors of the Jews ever since it became convenient once Hitler broke his pact with Uncle Joe, know this, and rather than lose their status as "protectors of Jews", they're waging this massive propaganda campaign. That's -all- this is about.

The anti-semite Christians are such a miniscule fraction of the population these days, you'd have to dig deep to find one. Like I said, I haven't seen a single poster like that here. The only expressions of hostility towards Jews that I've seen on this board has been a -response- to the incredible bigotry and hostility that parts of the Jewish community are displaying towards -them-, and quite frankly, I find that much to be completely understandable. In no case have I seen overreaction.

Huh? I've been hearing this denial that the Jews are responsible from Christians for the last few weeks, even since Mel began to be attacked by the libs about this subject. It's possible they have been drowned out by the media drumbeat, but they're there.

When my Savior gets back, I want him to know I did everything to protect His people. Then you're deaf. Where are the burning Synagogues? Where are the mobs of Christians screaming for the blood of the Jews? Where is the seething hatred spilling from the pulpits of churches? Where are the anti-Jew protests?

You insult all Christians with your hateful ignorant remarks. By unjustly comparing all Christians with Islamists you degrade your stature, not ours. I have never once heard the blood-libel in all of my 34 years... save on tv and in movies crafted to present the christian dominated US of days past appear inherently malignant.
I am not a christian, by belief. I am a half-jew, by blood. I went to a catholic high-school, by choice. No one EVER said to me "You killed Jesus, you damned kike!"

Wrong. The "Jews" are not "brethren" of Christians, so long as they deny Jesus as the Son of God (and thus, their personal redeemer). Jesus said that anyone who rejects him as the Son of God also rejects the one who sent him..the Father. He also stated that anyone who rejects him in front of man, so shall he reject in front of the Father and all the angels in Heaven on the day of judgement.

Jews who reject Jesus as Savior are no more saved than Muslim terrorists.

You know, I've been around Christians all of my life. I even grew up in the (shudder) "Deep South." (Ooooh!) Never in my life have I once heard a Christian blame Jews for the death of Christ. Not once. Not even a hint of this.

Whenever this has come up (not all that often, but often enough which is to say too often) it has been in the context of Jews criticizing Christians for this alleged belief.

That has been my experience and I have had numerous friends confirm that their experience has been exactly the same.

As a Lutheran-German in America I am always sickened by any hint of holocaust denial and antisemitism. Mel's got that ugly angry look all over his once beautiful face. (I was his biggest fan) It has nothing to do with being anti-conservative or anti-Christian if you have a problem with this man's message. I do feel compassion for him to the extent that he is a tormented man who was possibly abused in childhood but his film has given a new courage for that old darkness to crawl out from under the most surprising rocks.
LOVE...Christians...it's all about that and nothing else means anything without it. To anyone Jewish who is upset and hurt I ask for your forgiveness for not speaking out sooner. I was not up for the stress of a flaming but I'll take a breath hope for the best and hit the post button.
