Hate to break this to you, but it's been us in the VRWC crowd that have been worrying about this trend in our economy. The left is just trying to steal the issue, but their hands are so bloody with the problems they've created with over regulation and over taxation that neither party can be taken seriously.

the left wants this to occur. the private sector middle class is a burden to the left: they vote republican, and they are not looking for government handouts.
when that changes, these voters become Democrats. The Dems win on both sides of this issue: they can use it to trash Bush, and they get the votes of the people being affected like the ones in this article. Its a win-win for them, and a lose-lose for the Republicans.
